Location and environment

The campsite is located in an exceptional spot in the province of Liège, directly on the banks of the river Hoëgne. The nearest larger town is about 10 kilometers away, meaning you stay in the peace of nature yet have quick access to urban amenities. A must-see in the immediate vicinity is the Castle of Franchimont, an imposing medieval fortress where you can dive into local history. The nearby village of Polleur itself is also worth a walk.

For a day out beyond the campsite, there are numerous possibilities within a short travel distance. The town of Spa is nearby and invites you for a day of shopping or a visit to the famous thermal baths. The vibrant city of Liège is located just 10 kilometers from the campsite. Here you can explore the historic city center, visit St. Bartholomew’s Church or Place Lambert, and of course, taste an authentic Liège waffle on one of the many terraces. Nature lovers can enjoy the Caves of Remouchamps or the mysterious old coal mine of Blegny. For families with children, the Plopsa Coo theme park is a top destination, located about a 30-minute drive away, near the famous waterfalls of Coo.

When the water level permits, it is a wonderful place to build dams in the river or relax with your feet in the cool water. By the river, you’ll also find a small beach where you can sunbathe while the children enjoy themselves with the flowing water.

The surrounding area of the campsite is also a paradise for mountain bikers; you can rent mountain bikes at the campsite to explore the challenging trails of the Ardennes.
