The old part of Trogir is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and, of course, that doesn’t just happen. The city center is a well-preserved fortress, with a beautiful tower and numerous buildings and palaces from the Roman period. Breathing in the Gothic and Baroque of centuries past, visit St. Lawrence Cathedral with Master Radovan’s magnificent portal.
This campsite is located at the tourist attraction of Seget Vranjica and is about eight kilometers from Split International Airport. Walk along the promenade at Medena toward the fishing village of Seget, where you will find beautiful, yet rocky, beaches lined with olive trees. Here you will also find nice restaurants.
An hour’s drive away is the improbably beautiful natural park Krka, with its waterfalls. In the summer you can swim here, near those waterfalls, in the middle of nature. A little further away, more than two hours away, you will also find the lakes of Plitvice. There you will find more than ninety waterfalls and sixteen lakes, full of hiking trails. Wonderful!
Amadria Park Camping Trogir has 451 plots, with modern sanitary blocks. The camping blocks are divided into five rows, giving you great views of the islands. Note: that view is not insured. You can always seek out the beautiful vistas, of course. The sites are quite spacious and there are plenty of plumbing facilities distributed throughout the site. A common comment among Dutch people, is that at 1m80 the shower heads hang a bit low. There are playgrounds on the campground, but with a little bit of bad luck, you will be far away from them. By the way, pets are welcome at this campground and are also allowed on certain parts of the beach.
Some accommodations are close to the sea, but the vast majority are quite a walk away from the beach. Because the site is on a slope and therefore a terraced campground, that also means a lot of climbing. With a stroller or with a wheelchair, it is extra tough. The pool is also really close to the sea, so the same goes for that.
If the location of your accommodation is not a big deal, there is plenty to choose from with plenty of luxury and plenty of space. This ranges from apartments to mobile homes. The surroundings are beautiful, Amadria Park Camping Trogir could therefore also be seen as a great base from which to explore.
A brand new swimming pool has been built at Amadria Park Camping Trogir. From this pool you have a beautiful view of the sea. When the sun goes down, the pool turns into a kind of light show, making it an atmospheric setting. The pool is close to all facilities, so in this way it is truly seen as the epicenter of the campground.
In high season, this pool tends to get overcrowded; it may be a little too small for the capacity of the campground. The sea, of course, is nearby, where there is also coolness to be had but even there it can get crowded. Keep in mind that this is not a sandy beach, but pebbles and rocks.
In the sea there is a play object, which can be visited for a fee. From this beach you can do more: take a trip on a jet ski, one banana boat a tube, a tire, the water skis, pedal boats, kayaking, etcetera. There are also some eateries on the beach, Harbour Bar and Lungo Mare Bar.
No shortage of food and accompanying atmosphere. There are more than enough dining options at Amadria Park Camping Trogir. Starting with restaurant Dalmacija, with a splendid view. Here they prepare traditional Dalmatian cuisine, mostly from the wood oven. Furthermore, you have restaurant Trattoria Bella, with Croatian dishes and hefty Italian influences. With the Sweet Dreams Cakehouse, you have a fine artisan pastry shop on your hands. They also sell fantastic ice cream here. With a Sports Bar, D’Ante Bar (which is a coffee bar) beach bars like the Harbour Bar and the Lungo Mare Bar, you really have no complaints here.
Amadria Park Camping Trogir offers animation, albeit modest. For the little ones, there are certainly activities in which to participate. Here it’s all about creativity, learning things. For adults, there are various sports activities, such as sports gymnastics and exploring the area through Nordic walking. You can participate in aerobics, aqua-fun, power-walking, dance school, yogilates, fitness, Latino fitness, stretching, workout, relax your body and cro aqua-fun. Or go archery, or petanque.
Sports opportunities abound at this campground. Two tennis courts and four outdoor table tennis tables already challenge you to play some ball. Or rent a day of bikes and explore the area. Let the children play in the playground, let the dogs play in the playground for dogs. Walk the Path of Health. From Seget Donji and the Napoleon Road, to the church of St. Ilija, to the top of Mount Vlaska.
The camp store has a wide arsenal of food and souvenirs, such as postcards and stamps. Of course, they sell typical products from the region here. There is a beach shop on the beach, where you can buy towels, your sunscreen or toys. Keep in mind that everything at this campground, including the restaurants, are quite pricey.
For example, if you go to eat at Donja Banda in Vrsine (highly recommended!), remember to have your phone properly charged. A flashlight is really necessary to get back safely. If you want to rent a boat: do so through the campground. The other boat rentals in this area don’t all take it very well, which is always to your detriment.
The campground has some downsides: it is quite pricey, the entertainment minimal and the distances are sometimes not small. It does make this campground feel nice and quiet overall. The location, of course, is almost perfect!
