Location and environment

In the south of France, on the Mediterranean Sea, lies the world-famous Côte d’Azur. Part of it is the Var department, where cities such as Toulon, Saint-Raphaël and Fréjus are located. And so near Fréjus is Camping La Baume-La Palmeraie. Nearby you will find the most beautiful beaches fascinating creeks. The landscape here is hilly, so the campground is on the edge of the Esterel Mountains. A delightful recommendation is Tourtour, a perched village, or Sillans with its 42-meter-high waterfall. That village is in the middle of the woods and is beautiful. Or go to Gorges du Verdon, a gigantic gorge in the limestone cliffs created by emerald waters. This gorge is undoubtedly among the most beautiful natural phenomena on the continent and has a unique environment. The beautiful bays in Toulon, which you can reach by boat. Tie in a visit to the Maritime Museum or take a cable car to the top of Mont Faron. From here you have an insane view. Also worth a visit: the art galleries in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Musée de l’Annonciade and the Roman remains in Frejús. Brief explanation in advance: La Baume is the campsite, La Palmeraie the vacation village. The surroundings of La Baume can safely be called “idyllic. The pitches are about 100 square meters, so you have plenty of space here. All sites are delineated by pine trees, which also guarantees privacy. Each site has access to 10 amp electricity as well as water supply and drainage. From these pitches, all sanitary blocks are easily accessible. Fun fact: these blocks have Arabic-Spanish decoration. This campground can be called quite large with a thousand spots.

Camping La Baume-La Palmeraie has two pool complexes, both located on the outer sides. Both pools have their own atmosphere. La Baume has as many as six swimming pools, two of which are covered and heated. In addition, here are some great slides and a fun paddling pool. This is truly a water paradise for the little ones and is surrounded by palm trees and exotic plants. The pools are opposite the terrace of the bar and stores, making it the beating heart of the campground. At La Palmeraeie, things are a little different. Here is a lagoon of about 1,500 square meters, with a beautiful beach where you can relax in beach chairs. Recently, this “California pool” has new, winding waterslides, laid out in different colors. Both pool complexes also have hot tubs. Add to that the ever-sunny climate of this area and you know: this is where you will spend many hours.

There are also two bars on the overall park, with a sun-drenched terrace and a wide selection of drinks. From La Palmeraie you have a view of the imposing rock of Roquebrune sur Argens! Camping La Baume-La Palmeraie offers an extensive entertainment program for children, with a mini-club and performances. Princes and Princesses from 4 to 8 years old are welcome at kids club Les Pitchouns, older children from 9 to 13 can attend a special junior club and the Teen Club is for 14 to 17 and opens during vacations. What is certain: they guarantee a dynamic and fun vacation. More is organized from the campsite, such as sports activities and sports tournaments, embracing the immediate environment. In the Gorgdes du Verdon, you can hike and do whitewater sports. The beaches here have a wide range of water sports anyway. Please note that almost all the animation is French-speaking.

Details and tips

There are numerous details to mention about this area. A great tip for with the kids is to visit the bouncy castles on the water, at Lac de Roquebrune and Lac de Saint Cassien. Also fun to visit: the Porquerolles, an island seven kilometers long and two and a half kilometers wide. This is the largest island of the Iles d’Hyères group and can be reached by shuttle boat. On the island itself, you move around by bicycle or on foot.
