For a great vacation in the Jura, go to Yelloh! Village Camping Le Fayolan. This 4-star campsite is a medium-sized campsite amidst the beautiful nature of the Jura, in eastern France. This is only 800 kilometers from Utrecht, allowing you to arrive at the campsite within one day. Located directly on Lake Clairvaux, Camping Le Fayolan is an oasis of tranquility and fun. The campground has a cool (heated) water park with multiple water slides, an indoor pool and separate toddler pools. The campground is set up for children to play safely, and numerous activities are organized by the entertainment team. Whether you’re looking for an active vacation, enjoying nature or looking for a prime location for a great family vacation, this campground offers it all.
Located on the shores of Lake Clairveaux, Camping Le Fayolan offers beautiful views of the lake. You are surrounded by greenery and the calm waters of the lake. Here you can leave the hustle and bustle of the day behind and recharge yourself completely thanks to the beautiful surroundings. A short 15-minute walk brings you to the village of Clairvaux-Les-Lacs, where there are stores, terraces and restaurants. There are also markets where you can get souvenirs and local products.
The campground is located near the border of Switzerland, making a visit to this special country a must. How about a day in Geneva?
Besançon is also within driving distance and is well worth a visit because of the 7 hills that surround this town and the Doubt River. The drive there is already worth it, as you drive right through the Parc Naturel Régional natural park.
Being in the middle of a fantastic nature reserve, there are many waterfalls and rivers to explore. Of course, you must visit Herisson Falls. Therefore, you can make very nice hiking and/or biking trips here. Rest assured, at the campground you can rent bikes!
The Jura region is also known for its delicious food and drink. For example, there are vineyards to visit, but the region is also known for its famous cheeses Comté and Morbier. There are more than enough restaurants and inns where you can sample local produce.
If you go on vacation with your own camping equipment, there are three different camping sites to choose from. We describe them below:
– pitch ** – this pitch is the smallest of the three and is at least 80m2 in size. There is 16A of electricity included in the price and the place can accommodate up to 6 people. Pets are allowed here; however, you pay a surcharge for them. You book this camping spot through

– pitch *** – the area of this pitch is at least 100m2. Again, 16A electricity is included, can accommodate up to 6 people and pets are allowed for an additional fee. In addition, at this spot you have your own water connection and sewage disposal.
– pitch **** – with a size of at least 130m2, this is the largest pitch at Fayolan campsite. Also included here are 6 people, as well as 16A of electricity, water connection, sewage disposal and you may bring a pet for an additional charge. This place additionally includes WiFi connection.
There are several bathroom facilities in the campground, so it is never a far walk to the toilet or shower. The washrooms are cleaned daily but that sometimes deserves some improvement.
If you want to do laundry during your stay at Camping Le Fayolan, there is a laundromat where you can wash your clothes. There is also a lending service for irons and ironing boards.
Renting a mobile home or canvas bungalow at Camping Le Fayolan? We are happy to help you get started as there are several different types at this campground. Of course, various rental accommodations are also available at Camping Le Fayolan, such as mobile homes and bungalow tents.
There are a number of different mobile homes for rent at the campsite, ranging from 23m2 to 34m2, two or three bedrooms and suitable for 4, 5 or 6 people. They all have a wooden porch, but not every mobile home also has a canopy. A few offer only a parasol for shade. You will find the total offer of mobile homes at Allcamps,

Bungalow tent Espace accommodates 6 adults and has 3 bedrooms. There is a kitchen with stove, refrigerator and kettle. Both inside and outside there is seating and an umbrella. In total, this bungalow tent is 28m2 in size. You rent the bungalow tent from Allcamps,

The beautiful lake right next to the campground is the big attraction of this campground. The water there is clear blue, it ripples a bit and is therefore ideally suited for a wonderful canoe and SUP trip, which you can rent at the campsite. But floating on your air mattress is also an excellent idea. There is a small beach to enjoy the sun, or for a game of beach volleyball. There are also plenty of (shaded) spots around the lake. You’ll want to come back here in the evening for a beautiful sunset, although you can enjoy that from the campground, too.
In addition, Camping Le Fayolan also has two heated swimming pools, one of which is covered. So even with not so nice weather, you can just make a splash. The outdoor pool has several water slides, a separate paddling pool and a baby pool. There are sun beds available on the sun terrace. There are also umbrellas that provide shade.
For the ultimate in relaxation, head to the Spa: with a hammam, sauna, jacuzzi and massage room, you can unwind here.
Please note that swim shorts are not allowed. Men and boys are required to wear tight swimming trunks.
On vacation, you don’t want to cook every day. Fortunately, there is a good restaurant at the campground with a small menu of regional dishes. There is also a snack bar and you can order takeout. At the ice cream parlor, order a nice ice cream and at the bar a nice glass of wine or another refreshing drink. Furthermore, Camping Le Fayolan also offers a breakfast service on weekends.
Boredom is not possible here! Children are sure to have fun thanks to all the activities offered by the animation team. Throughout the season there is a Kids Club for children ages 5-7 and a Junior Club for children ages 8-12. In high season, there is also a separate Teens Club, for teens ages 13-17. For younger children, fun and creative workshops are offered, in addition to playing games, including on the beach. There is also karaoke, various shows and a mini Olympics. In July and August, there is also a mini-disco at the campground.
For teenagers, there is a separate entertainment program with activities that appeal to teenagers. Think sporting activities such as soccer, (beach) volleyball and laser gaming. In addition, you can participate in tree climbing, canoeing/kayaking on the river or a WII tournament. There is a separate space for them to meet, an “underground” space with a disco.
But not only the children are thought of, There are all kinds of (sports) activities organized throughout the day in which you can participate. If you also like to stay sporty during your vacation, you’re in the right place. Join a class of aquagym, fitness, aerobics, dance or choose a workout especially for your abs and buttocks. Canoe/kayak tours are also organized, as are archery tournaments and petanque.
Also in the evening there is plenty organized, such as concert evenings, karaoke, bingo and other games, In the disco you can go six nights a week in high season to go crazy.
The campground has a nice playground where children can have fun, as well as on the bouncy castle. There is a multi-sport court to kick a ball around. In lake you can also fish, which is also offered through the campground.
The region of the Jura lends itself extremely well to sporting activities. There is already a lot going on at the campsite, but there is also a lot to discover outside the campsite. Bring your mountain bike, or rent one at the campground, for a great route starting from the campground. All levels will enjoy a great bike ride here: whether you want to take a leisurely ride, or climb mountains, it’s all possible here.
Also, don’t forget to bring your hiking boots, as there are plenty of great hiking trails to be found. Explore the area on your own, or join an organized hike through the campground.
Of course, a visit to the waterfalls of Le Hérisson is a must. There is a hiking trail that passes by the numerous waterfalls, water jumps and caves. It takes some climbing and scrambling, but this is manageable even for the little adventurers. Just remember to put on good (hiking) shoes, because with all that water it can be slippery at times. At waterfall “Saut Girard” you can also see the 35-meter high waterfall from the other side: you walk behind the waterfall! Guaranteed to be a unique experience for you and your children.
For rides on a horse or pony, you can visit the nearby area. If you are a real adventurer, then Via Ferrata is really for you. This is a combination of rock climbing and a tree climbing course. You walk a route in rocky wall with specific elements such as cables, ladders, suspension and rope bridges, etc. There are several levels, so everyone can reach a summit with great views.
For your fresh rolls & croissants, your basic groceries and your daily newspaper, go to the store at Camping Le Fayolan. In the village of Clairvaux you will find a supermarket, as well as banks, a doctor, restaurants and on Wednesdays there is the local market with local produce.
Camping Le Fayolan is a terraced campground and because of this, you have a beautiful view of the lake in many places from the campground.
