Camping La Chapelle is a 5-star campsite in the south of France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Just a 200-meter walk and you are on the beautiful sandy beach on the Mediterranean Sea. The campground is located directly in the village of Argelès-sur-Mer. In this cozy, but touristy, village you will find many bars, restaurants, stores and entertainment venues. Camping La Chapelle is spacious and is very green. There are a lot of trees and therefore a lot of shade. With a choice of more than 20 different rental accommodations such as mobile homes and lodge tents, there’s sure to be something for you. There are no camping spots so the campground is not accessible with your own tent or caravan.
The location of Camping La Chapelle is the great asset of this campground. In fact, you are right in the center of the cozy vacation village of Argelès-sur-Mer and within walking distance of the beach. With all the restaurants, stores and bars within walking distance, there is plenty to do in the immediate area. Therefore, at the campsite itself you don’t need this as much and therefore there is not much on offer. In addition to the village and the beach, there is also a pleasant promenade with bars and restaurants. It is wonderful to go here in the evening. Despite its location in the city center, the campground itself is nice and quiet. You are literally between the sea and the mountains.
The picturesque village of Coullioure is nearby. This village is also called the St. Tropez of the Languedoc region. It is beautifully situated on a bay with clear blue water. You will find old forts, picturesque streets, restaurants, stores and terraces. There is also a royal castle built on a rock by the water. Other quaint villages worth visiting are Banyuls, Port Vendres and Canet.
Thanks to its southern location, Spain is not far away. A visit to Barcelona is therefore possible. Various excursions are offered from the campground to such places as Barcelona, Carcassonne and Andorra. You can also sign up for boat tours or guided walking tours.
At Camping La Chapelle there are no camping sites available only rental accommodations.
The entire campground consists of rental accommodations. So there is a lot of choice with more than 20 different types of mobile homes and lodge tents to choose from. From fairly basic to super-luxurious, spacious mobile homes with lounge areas and four bedrooms.
Not all mobile homes have equal privacy; they are sometimes close together. But if you choose Roan’s luxury mobile homes like the Supreme Lounge Premium and some Premium Lounge mobile homes, you’ll be on the Marvilla Premium Zone. This area offers privacy and has nice walkways, is nicely planted and is car-free.

The water park received a makeover in 2022. Meanwhile, there is more than 2000m2 of water fun to be had for hours of fun for all ages. There are four different pools, one of which is covered and heated. The new slides, the tallest of which is 9 meters, are a lot of fun. Please note that the slides are closed between noon.
Little ones can play in the water playground with slides and water sprayers. There is also a separate paddling pool where they can splash and play in the water.
Around the pool are sunbeds for free use. However, please note that the number of sun beds does not match the number of guests. The campground tries to assist in “towel laying” by making occasional checks and this frees up sunbeds.
In the pool it is forbidden to swim with loose swimming shorts, tight swimming trunks are mandatory. The Pool Bar is the place to go for a snack and a drink while your feet are in the water.
The animation team organizes fun activities in the pool, such as aqua gym, baby gym and various water and sports games.
For even more water fun, you have to go to the beach. Just 150 meters from the campsite you will find the beautiful sandy beach. It’s not fine sand, so you might like to bring water shoes. Take a dip in the clear blue water, or chill on one of the (rental) sunbeds. You can also do all kinds of water sports, such as canoeing and SUP’ing or rent a watercraft. In addition, you can windsurf, dive and sail. There is even a ball pit on the beach!
Because there are lots of restaurants to choose from in the immediate area, there is no restaurant at Camping La Chapelle. After all, you only have to walk out of the gate to find the first restaurants. However, you can pick up food from the snack bar in the store. Think French fries and pizza.
Various activities are organized by the friendly animation team for young and old. There are several sports activities you can participate in, such as aqua gym, basketball, soccer, water polo and zumba classes.
For the little ones, there is a Mini-Club during the months of July and August.
There is also plenty to do in the evening at the campground. Thus, games are organized, you can join the bingo night and enjoy live music and dance nights. The kids can let loose during the mini disco.
You can also enjoy sports while on vacation at Camping La Chapelle. Several sports fields can be found, including a (panna) soccer field, a basketball court, tennis courts and a new beach volleyball court. Of course, you should also bring your ping pong bats for a game of table tennis, and be sure not to forget the bocce balls. The kids will definitely want to challenge you on the miniature golf course.
If you are more the type who likes fitness, there is an extensive gym on site. Outdoor fitness equipment is also available.
In the area it is possible to take canoe tours, or how about a mountain bike tour. There are also opportunities for horseback riding and beautiful walks. About 10 km from the campsite is Lunapark amusement park and a large golf course.
There is a store in the campground for a fresh bread and croissant and some basic necessities. However, for your shopping go to the supermarket outside the campsite; the first one is only 100 meters away from the campsite.
There is free Wi-Fi in the water park and at the bar.
