Camping Les Sablons is a 5 star family campsite in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, in the south of France. This green and luxurious campground has a wonderful water park for many hours of water fun. The amazing water playground will be favored by children, as will the water slides, while adults can relax in the Balneo pool. The campground is located directly on the beautiful sandy beach of the Mediterranean Sea.
You will enjoy green surroundings in a campground that is beautifully landscaped. There are many green spaces, trees and flowering flowerbeds. Everything is well kept and really gives you that luxury vacation feeling in a Mediterranean setting. The campground is very clean and child-friendly, there is a lot organized by the animation team and all kinds of activities. There is also plenty to do in terms of sports, but you can also relax. All in all, a campsite for young and old in beautiful surroundings.
Because Camping Les Sablons is right on the beach, you never have to walk far for a refreshing dip in the sea. The campground is located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This region is an ideal vacation destination thanks to its wide beaches, beautiful nature, old towns and not forgetting its delicious wine. Called the wine capital of France, the city of Narbonne is well worth a visit.
From the campsite you can walk right into the village of Portiragnes Plage. Here, during the summer period, you will find a market almost every day where they sell delicious fresh products but also lots of toys and souvenirs. Furthermore, you will often need the car to go out anyway.
Camping Les Sablons is near Vias Plage, where you will find France’s largest open amusement park, Europark Vias. The tourist promenade of Vias Plage offers many restaurants where you can eat good food and also, of course, many souvenir stores. The pleasant village of Cap d’Agde is nearby and is known for its sandy beaches, marina, Aqualand water park and vibrant nightlife.
Furthermore, the town of Sète is a gem. This is one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful fishing and trading ports and is also called the Venice of Languedoc thanks to its canals and colorful facades. There are all kinds of summer festivals in the summer, so before you leave, check to see if there is a fun event when you are in the area.
Other fun destinations include the cities of Béziers and Montpellier. Béziers is a medieval village whose main attraction is the Saint Nazaire Cathedral, a magnificent Gothic cathedral with beautiful views of the surrounding area. The city park in Béziers is also recommended for a nice walk, fun playgrounds and a waterfall. Thanks to the many restaurants and cafes, there are plenty of places to relax for a while.
The town of Carcassone is also highly recommended. This medieval fortified city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List for a reason. From afar you can see the castle towers looming up, and through the old arch gate you enter the city, where cars are not allowed.
Fortunately, there is also the option of camping at Camping Les Sablons. In addition to over 650 rental units, there are also over 120 camping sites available for rent. If you want to go to Camping Les Sablons with your own camping equipment, we do advise you to book in time, because the pitches are fully booked early. There are two two different pitches: Emplacement Prestige (with private sanitary facilities) and Emplacement Confort . Both pitches are spacious, are enclosed by hedges and have a sandy surface.
There are two sanitary buildings on the campsite that were completely renovated in 2023; they look beautiful. There are also special sanitary facilities suitable for children, where everything is aware of your child. The plumbing is well kept clean.
If you’ve been to the beach, you can rinse off under the outdoor showers afterwards. This is really a plus of Camping Les Sablons, though.
The laundromat has washing machines and tumble dryers where you can do your laundry. Through contactless payment you operate the washing machines.
If you are looking for beautiful and luxurious rental accommodations, then Camping Les Sablons is for you. All accommodations are nicely finished with wood making it look very neat. Various types of rental accommodations are available, from mobile homes and chalets to luxury glamping tents. At this pet-friendly campsite you are allowed to bring your faithful four-legged friend: in all the rental accommodations we list here it is possible to bring your dog .
The range of MH Luxury mobile homes are the most luxurious mobile homes. They are located in a nice spot in the campground, on a private field, and are equipped with air conditioning, a dishwasher and a wooden veranda. There is a 4-person version, which is 35m2 in size, has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 6-person version is 40m2, has 3 bedrooms and also 2 bathrooms. The Luxury VIP has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is the largest at 49m2. It can sleep up to 5 people. Then you also have an MH Luxury Studio for 2 people. This luxury budget option is 19m2 in size. What’s nice about the MH Luxe mobile homes is that it comes with the Luxe package, which includes beds made on arrival, towels, final cleaning (except the kitchen) and a welcome pack. You rent these mobile homes through Allcamps, LuxCamp or Vacanceselect.
The mobile homes MH Prestige are just a bit more luxurious and spacious than the Confort. There are five different variants ranging in size from a minimum of 33m2 and suitable for 4 to 6 people. They have air conditioning, a dishwasher and a beautiful wooden, covered, veranda. The 3-bedroom variant also has 2 bathrooms and is 38m2 in size. In addition, there is an MH Prestige suitable for 2 persons. This one-bedroom mobile home is 18m2 in size. At Allcamps and LuxCamp you can book all five variants, Vacanceselect offers 3.
The range of five MH Confort mobile homes consists of mobile homes that can accommodate 4 to 6 people and range from 20 to 30 m2. The Plus variants also have a dishwasher in the mobile home. You rent them through Allcamps, LuxCamp or Vacanceselect.
There are also four types of chalets. The Chalet Confort can accommodate 6 people, has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, air conditioning and is 34m2. The wooden porch is completely covered.
Chalet Prestige Etang is also 34m2, has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and is also suitable for 6 people, but this type of chalet has a beautiful location namely on the waterfront. You rent these chalets through Allcamps, LuxCamp or Vacanceselect.
Then you have two versions of the Chalet Luxe. The first can accommodate 5 people and is a whopping 49m2. There is a semi-covered wooden porch with deck chairs. In addition, you have some extras such as beds made on arrival, towels and final cleaning. The other version of the Chalet Luxe can accommodate as many as 10 people! If you want to vacation with a large group of friends or family, this is the accommodation for you! At a whopping 63m2, you have plenty of room. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The wooden decking is semi-covered and has sunbeds. In addition, of course, this includes made beds, towels and final cleaning. You book the Chalets Luxe through Allcamps or LuxCamp.
There are four different safari tents for rent at Allcamps for a fine glamping vacation. The Sunlodge safari tents differ in size, with the smallest safari tent being 23m2 and the largest 35m2. A few also have private bathrooms, but all have a very nice wooden, covered, veranda. All but one are equipped with a luxurious lounge set. The tents are cozy together, but are situated so that you have plenty of privacy. If you are near the Étang nature reserve you will have a great view! You book the Sunlodge safari tents through Allcamps, LuxCamp and Vacanceselect.
The campground has invested in the water park in recent years, and it shows. There are several pools, all of which are heated. One pool can also be covered so you can still enjoy swimming in all weather conditions. There is also a 25-meter pool for athletic swimmers. There is also a new water playground with multiple slides. The kids will have a great time with the sprinklers, the water barrels and, of course, the slides. There are also penta gliss slides where you can have a race to see who gets down the fastest. Children under 10 must be supervised by a parent, the Aquatoon slides are accessible if you are at least 1 meter tall and for the other two slides you must be at least 1.20 meters. Further, be aware that boys and men should not wear swim shorts in the pool.
Because Camping Les Sablons is right on the beach, you always have access to the lovely sandy beach and the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean. The water does not get deep quickly, which allows children to play there. You can also cool off there. There is the opportunity to rent a canoe or SUP from La Cabane in July and August.
Especially for adults (18+), there is also the Balneo Spa. You will enjoy a beautiful pool, four whirlpools, hydromassage pools and the anatomical underwater bench. You come to complete peace. On the sun terrace, enjoy a nice cool drink.
For even more relaxation, book a massage, facial or scrub in one of the massage rooms. Get a massage and completely unwind. At the beauty salon, you can get a new haircut, a manicure, pedicure or beauty treatment.
There are two restaurants at Camping Les Sablons. At Le Jardin des Sablons restaurant, you can enjoy delicious food with flavors from around the world. The Mediterranean dishes have an Asian touch, and be sure to sample the seafood, which the chef specializes in. There is a beautiful green terrace but if you prefer to eat inside with air conditioning that is also possible.
At Le Carré Blue restaurant, you can enjoy salads, an ice cream sundae in the afternoon and delicious cocktails in the evening. You will enjoy it in tropical atmospheres on a modern terrace. This restaurant is located in the heart of the campground, next to the water park.
Le Patio is a bar with lounge area opposite pool Balneo where they serve delicious cocktails. At Le Bar you can have breakfast, a snack or a nice drink. This is also where evening entertainment takes place.
There is also a pizzeria where you can pick up pizza to eat at your own accommodation or at the bar. The pizzas there are delicious and, of course, oven-fresh. Stop by the food trucks for a sweet or savory snack such as burgers, paninis, salads, fries or a delicious crepe or waffle.
There is a wide range of entertainment at Camping Les Sablons. There are as many as 4 different kids clubs in high season, so there is plenty to do for all ages.
Since 2023, there has been the Pitchoun Club, especially for 3-5 year olds. Here the little ones, together with their parents, can do creative workshops and fun games such as crafts, painting and cuddling with the animals. Sunny’s Mini Club is especially for children ages 5-8 in July & August and for children ages 5-12 in the off-season. There will be creative workshops, fun games on the beach and sports activities. And, of course, there is also a mini-disco. Sunny’s Junior Club operates in July & August and is especially for children ages 9-13. Fun sports, painting, crafts, field trips, dancing and singing are among the programs. Camping Les Sablons is also really a
teenage campsite
and for them there is the special Teens Club where they can meet. Teens aged 14-17 (in high season) or 13-17 (low season) can participate in cool activities such as the beach day, sports tournaments, laser gaming, game and movie nights and, of course, the pool party and foam party.
There is also plenty of evening entertainment, such as the foam party and the nightly pool party. It also hosts cabaret nights, an Olympics and professional performances such as live concerts and an acrobat show.
Only drawback is that the animation team actually speaks only French and almost no English. Furthermore, you must sign up for the activities through Camping Les Sablons’ Sunelia App. Be sure to do this early so that the activity is not already fully booked.
If you love sports, then Camping Les Sablons is very suitable for you. With a wide range of sports, sports fields and sports tournaments, you never have to sit still. If you like cardio workouts, you can visit the fitness room that includes an exercise bike, treadmill and rowing machine. In addition, various dance classes are offered and you can join abdominal and muscle training classes. During aquagym, you exercise muscles you didn’t know you had. Because of the resistance of the water, you use your muscles much more effectively without putting extra strain on them. And if you want to try a different water sport for once, the Aquabike class might be for you. This is a spinning class, but in water and is very effective for your leg muscles. Furthermore, you can do archery at Camping Les Sablons and many sports tournaments are organized such as soccer, beach volleyball, table tennis and, of course, petanque. If you like tennis, that is also possible here and there is even a padel court. There is even a mini farm where children can meet goats, donkeys and much more.
Yoga classes are offered daily throughout the summer. If you prefer a private lesson, that is also possible for a fee. In addition to regular yoga, Paddle yoga is also offered. This is a (paid) yoga class on a paddle board, requiring more balance and concentration than a standard yoga class. Also discover the three new activities to relax with Energetic Awakening, Qi Gong and Relaxation classes.
New to Camping Les Sablons is Permaculture. This is a space of more than 1ha completely dedicated to nature. Various workshops and activities are organized to introduce you to all that this piece of nature has to offer. Examples include guided bird watching, the pond walk, kokedama workshop, insect house making and more. You can picnic there, there is a petting zoo and you can take a walk by yourself.
Don’t worry if you can’t bring your own bikes. A bicycle rental is available at the campground so you can take wonderful bike rides along the Canal du Midi. It is ideal for exploring the Hérault by bike, such as the villages of Vias and Agde. Or rent a bike and explore the many vineyards in the area.
On the beach you can rent canoes and SUPs. If you have your own, don’t forget to bring them!
There is a brand new supermarket and a bakery in the campground. They are located just outside the camping gate. The bakery is known for its delicious bread & pastries and there is always plenty of supply. The supermarket and bakery were completely renovated and modernized in 2023.
For a new haircut or a refresh of your vacation hairstyle, visit the hairdresser. If you suffer from tensions in the body, there is an osteopath on site you can visit by appointment to treat tensions and pains.
In high season there is an almost daily market in Portiragnes Plage where you can buy fresh products such as cheese, meats and olives, among others. Of course, there are also plenty of stalls where you can buy souvenirs and toys.
The campground has its own app, the Sunelia app. In this app you can find the campground’s services and stores. You can also read about the entertainment program as well as tips for trips in the area, the weather forecast and useful phone numbers.
