Camping L’Hippocampe is a very nicely set up, quiet family campsite, located less than 900 meters from the beach in Argelès-sur-Mer. It is a car-free, 5-star site with a beautiful, heated water park, a large playground and Dutch animation. At this campsite you combine the advantages of a quiet, friendly location with the pluses of a larger campsite. Here you have unlimited access to all the facilities of the adjacent, larger sister campsite La Sirène, including a fantastic water park! This 5-star campsite near Argelès-sur-Mer has a unique location. The town of the same name, as its name suggests, was originally by the sea. However, due to land accretion, it now lies a short kilometer inland and the new Argelès-Plage was formed on the coast. Although both towns have their own bustling centers, they have more or less grown together. This means that, walking all the way to the beach, you will encounter all sorts of stores, restaurants and bars. Also visit the chic Port Argelès, where the pleasure yachts moor.

Camping L’Hippocampe’s accommodations include cozy cottages and mobile homes of various sizes and amenities. Thus, the smallest accommodation offers all the necessary comforts: a cozy living room with open kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. But there are also accommodations for more people and with more luxury.
Enjoy the heavenly, heated pool complex at Camping L’Hippocampe. It is a true tropical paradise with artificial rocks, waterfalls, real palm trees and a lovely hot tub for relaxation. In the children’s lagoon, your children will have an unforgettable time with the slides, water jets and fountains. You also have free access to the fantastic Camping La Sirène water park, with two covered and heated pools, several slides and fun water games.
At Camping L’Hippocampe, you can choose what and where to eat every day. On the site itself, you have a choice of no less than 3 cozy restaurants, where it is also possible to order takeaway. For the real vacation feeling, head to Sirène Beach where you’ll enjoy refined dishes made from local produce. For delicious Thai and other Asian creations, go to Le Bamboe and there is a restaurant for dinners with shows on a large terrace. There is also the brand-new complex with snack and takeaway food for quick cravings.
During your day at the water park, you can grab a delicious ice cream or refreshing cocktail at Sirène Beach’s lounge bar in between, and reserve your evenings for The Pub because that’s when there are DJs, theme nights, live concerts and even more vibrant fun!
At l’Hippocampe, children are king. And indeed, there is an awful lot for children to do and experience. These include the Syppox Kids Club, where children ages 3 to 12 can meet, have fun and be creative. The animation team consists of qualified game leaders, who invite the children to participate in water games, Olympics, treasure hunts, group games and organizing a show on La Sirène’s main stage. Your kids will probably make friends for life here!
But adults have also been thought of! During the summer, festive evenings start after sunset. Go dance to the music of the DJ in The Pub or attend a show on the big, famous stage. Discover the varied program of musicals, concerts, karaoke and even games! In 2020, the stage was completely renovated and on the large terrace you can enjoy a delicious dinner show during balmy summer evenings.
Want to party longer? Every week there are several concerts and animations in the restaurants as well as in The Pub, which goes on until 2 a.m. and teens can have fun at the Disco!
You won’t be short of anything in terms of sports and recreation either! Thanks to the very extensive range of sports and recreational facilities, you can enjoy a wonderful, active vacation. So you will go home full of fun memories and perhaps even fitter than you came!
At the beginning of your stay, you will receive the bracelet “Recreation pass”, which gives you access to all the activities and entertainment at L’Hippocampe and La Sirène. In the Sporttippo you can make use of, among other things:
– The stadium (soccer, handball, basketball, etc.) and 2 soccer fields
– The Beach Stadium (beach soccer, beach rugby, sandball)
– The beach volleyball court
– Table tennis tables
– The bocce court
At all these locations, certified sports leaders organize many activities for both children and adults; from ping-pong tournaments to real soccer games. You also have access to the gym with new sports equipment for cardio and strength training.

To keep in shape, take part in active classes in aquabike (not included in the “recreation pass”), aquagym, fitness or zumba, and afterwards, pamper your tired body with a relaxing massage!
