This great German 5-star campground is located in the (wide) triangle of Bremen, Hamburg and Hanover. Tucked away in the Lüneburg Heath, near the historic town of Wietzendorf. A paradise? In any case, you will not lack anything here, and at most the weather can be disappointing: it is quite similar to that of the Netherlands. The campground has plenty of sports and games facilities, has a very ample entertainment, making it a real family campground, with lots of greenery and a beautiful crystal-clear lake where you can swim. Bad weather? Not to worry, there is also an indoor tropical swimming paradise.
Camping Südsee-Camp is located just under 500 kilometers from Utrecht, on the Lüneburg Heath. At the campground itself you will not lack anything, and there is also a lot to see and do in the surrounding area. For example, just 15 kilometers away is Heide-park, one of Germany’s most popular amusement parks. Here you will find, among other things, the largest wooden roller coaster in all of Europe. Another amusement park not far away is the Serengeti Safari Park. This zoo houses not only animals, but also roller coasters. Walsrode Bird Park has more than 4,500 different species of birds and is also more than worth seeing. Bergen-Belsen concentration camp is also nearby to learn more about the horrors of World War II. Do you like to hike or bike? Then, of course, the moors themselves are highly recommended. Of course, an outing to the cities of Bremen, Hamburg or Hanover is also definitely a possibility.
As at almost all campgrounds, you do well to pay a little attention when assigning your pitch. This campground has spacious pitches, but sometimes they are a little small and you have a little less privacy. And that includes shade or open sun. Then there is paving: some are tiled, some are not. Most sites have electricity and water. What the campground has done particularly well is the plumbing. This is always close by and also always clean and tight. Do you like having private bathroom facilities instead of a public urinal? Even that can be reserved.
Camping Südsee-Camp has great rental cottages, in the most beautiful area of the campsite and fully equipped with the most modern interior. The cottages are normally close to everything you need: the supermarket, the pool, the lake and all the restaurants. You can choose from Swedish cottages, modern chalets and premium caravans and more, depending on which provider you rent from. In the middle of the Lüneburg Heath lies the beautiful tropical indoor pool of Camping Südsee-Camp. You’ll find a wave pool, a whitewater course, Jacuzzis, saunas, a solarium and, of course, a children’s area with a sizable pirate ship. This pool does charge an entrance fee of a few euros. The campground also houses a small lake within it, with crystal clear water and beaches. So in terms of swimming fun, there is certainly more than enough to do for the youngest and their parents.
There is no shortage of catering at this campground. There are several restaurants and cafes where you can eat versatile food. At Insel Restaurant, you’ll eat seasonal meals complemented by tropical surprises. The menu here changes weekly. At Pier One you can also enjoy delicious food and drinks, and they also serve ice cream. The same goes for Bootsmann, which are more breakfast-oriented. This is also where you drink the best coffee. Camper’s Inn is the snack bar, with an indoor and outdoor section. There is also a take-away here. The Beach Bar is right on the water, and when the weather is nice, the beer garden is also opened. Here you will also find the tastiest cocktails at night and there is regular live music. In the pool area is snack bar Kontiki-Bar. Mr. Finally, Ed, is the little café where you can also watch live soccer. In short, in terms of catering facilities, there really is plenty at Camping Südsee-Camp.
This campground offers entertainment for young and old. During the day there is a diverse program of activities and in the evening there are parties and entertainment. So there is something for almost every age, although probably not every adolescent will appreciate the animation.
Perhaps the Robin Hood tournament, in which you learn archery. Or the ropes course, in which you try to get to the other side at six meters high. The campground also offers a fitness oasis, you can go horseback riding, and there is even a Protestant Lutheran church, in Finkenbusch Square. Here there is also plenty of entertainment for the whole family.
Want to play golf on the cross-country track or go to the skate park? At the campground there are especially many sports to play. In addition to the usual soccer, basketball, table tennis, beach volleyball, beach handball and tennis, they are also constantly trying out the latest trends in sports here. For the curious among us, but what exactly is KanJam? Well, you will experience that at Camping Südsee-Camp.
Fresh bread, fresh vegetables, plenty of drinks, a newspaper: the supermarket located at the campsite actually has everything for your daily shopping. And if you intend to barbecue, there is also a meat package to purchase. Then there is also a tourist shop and a Rental Shop, where you can rent all kinds of things. Does something go wrong with the caravan? At Südsee-Caravans you will surely manage to fix everything.
Camping Südsee-Camp is rightfully a five-star campsite, where everything is tiptop and everything has been thought of. So at the campsite itself, you won’t get bored easily. The many amusement parks nearby, the nature reserve and the three major German cities are also worth visiting. Walsrode Bird Park really seems to be particularly worth visiting.
