Camping Union Lido was the first five-star campsite in Italy and it definitely manages to uphold that honor: this is probably still the most luxurious campsite in all the country. First, the location. Union Lido is right on the Cavallino-Treporti coast, close to seaside resort Jesolo and wonderfully close to Venice. The north of Italy is known for its many beautiful spots, so in terms of getaways, you will definitely get your money’s worth here. Guests have access to a one-kilometer private beach on the Adriatic Coast, with a beach bar and equipped with all amenities. There is much else to do at this gigantic campground itself. The two huge pool complexes guarantee spectacle and coolness, the entertainment is first-rate and the shopping center á 25 stores promises plenty of shopping fun. Location and environment

As the crow flies, Camping Union Lido is only a few kilometers from Venice. And what could be more fun than visiting Venice by water? First you drive to Punta Sabbioni and from here it’s only 15 minutes by boat to the city of basilicas, bridges, gondolas and St. Mark’s Square. Also be sure to visit the islands of Burano and Murano. They are a lot less touristy than Venice and very worthwhile thanks to its authentic fishermen’s houses. The campground is near the town of Cavallino, within walking distance. The weekly market here is without a doubt a great outing. Camping Union Lido is located on a peninsula and nature proliferates here. And certainly, the pools at this campground will really satisfy all desires, dreams and fantasies. But if not: water park Caribe Bay is nearby and underwater world Sea Life ditto. An aquarium park featuring the most fascinating animals from the deepest oceans.

Are you in the area with your RV, caravan or tent? Of course, this campground also has wonderful places to hang out. You sleep among shady forests and the sea is never far away; you walk about ten minutes at most. A huge campground like this, of course, requires plenty of food. Don’t worry about that: there are no fewer than eight restaurants here with different menus. That ranges from pizza or fries, to a three-course meal. From completely gluten-free, to vegetarian. The quality of these restaurants is also definitely fine and everyone is thought of. Furthermore, there are nine bars where you can have an aperitif. And, of course, have a real Italian ice cream for dessert. At the Cabana Club you can extend your evening: here there is karaoke, shows and music.

Animation is available for all ages. The Junior Club has an excellent entertainment team, which hosts games, theater performances and costume parties. Or go back to school in the summer! You can take diving lessons here, or horseback riding lessons, or go to the soccer school. In other words, a fun school. The amusement park is a wonderful place to hang out for the kids, with a real roller coaster and a whitewater raft. Mini fair Funny World is always worth a visit. So no worries about the kids, they will have fun!

You are right by the sea, so why not take a diving lesson? You can keep up your fitness in the trimbos and do a bit of horseback riding in the area. Be sure to rent a bike to explore this neighborhood, or put on your walking shoes. It is always lovely here; on or off site.

To enjoy shopping, you don’t have to leave the campground. A shopping area with as many as 25 different stores awaits you! Of course you can get your daily groceries at the supermarket, the bakery and the greengrocer, and of course you can wash your clothes (or have them washed) at the laundromat. Still looking outside the campground? Go to Lido di Jesolo. Here you will find a shopping street ten kilometers long, with the nicest stores, bars, restaurants and terraces.

Details and tips

This wooded and natural product is known for its mosquitoes. They come mostly at sunset. Definitely keep this in mind. And don’t forget to bring a cover for your car, too. There is quite a bit of resin coming off the trees, which ends up on the car.
