Camping Villaggio Europa is located on Isola del Sole, the Island of the Sun, at the very top of Italy’s boot. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, and cities such as Trieste and Venice are nearby. This huge four-star campsite is located directly on the beach and the Adriatic Sea, among pine trees, in a beautiful lagoon. Water fun is guaranteed here. The campground caters mostly to families with children; the accommodations feel like a vacation village full of cozy streets, where no cars are allowed. Add to this the fantastic surroundings and you are almost guaranteed a wonderful, sun-drenched vacation.
Day trip to Croatia, Austria or stay in Italy after all: the location of Villaggio Europa is a special one in more ways than one. The Friuli Venezia Giulia is a special region anyway. The numerous islets all around are obviously worth visiting, such as pilgrimage island Barbana. Closer and easily accessible is the port town of Grado, which can give you a bit of the Venice feeling: water, islets, water, fishermen’s houses and water. The larger, famous cities of Venice and Trieste are nearby. The latter is really worth a visit; nearby are the impressive caves of Grotta Gigante. If you want history, go to Aquileia, with its ancient mosaics. Actually, there is too much to list to visit, as the list is endless. Grab a bike and take some bike rides through surroundings. Or cruise the lagoon by boat. It offers various excursions with its catamaran.
Camping Villaggio Europa is located in a beautiful spot on the island of Isola del Sole. The island is characterized by its pine forest, in the dunes. Although the campground focuses primarily on accommodations, there are certainly plenty of camping sites. These are at least 80 square meters and all have electricity. If you want water and wastewater treatment, you can do that too. The plumbing is always nearby and is also modern and fully equipped. If you only come with a tent, you also have the option of reserving a slightly smaller spot. Dogs are allowed at this campground, there are special dog walking areas, but they are by no means allowed everywhere.
Dogs, for example, are again not welcome in and around the accommodations. All accommodations are beautifully hidden in nature, among the trees, flower beds and flowers; it really feels like a (vacation) village here, and of course the knowledge that you are in a lagoon makes it extra special. No cars are allowed at the accommodations; you park them at the park entrance. This makes it a lot safer for children to play nicely. You have plenty of choices here to make it a perfect vacation. So a matter of picking the perfect spot for you. The accommodations have different sizes, so they are also suitable for larger families.
With Aquatic swimming pool, the complex has a wonderful place to cool off. With huge slides, colorful playground equipment and a river, which has several super exciting rapids. For adults and for children, therefore, absolutely worthwhile. Of course, you can also just swim your laps here, and if you’re looking for some extra relaxation, just take a seat in a whirlpool or relax on one of the sun loungers. It almost goes without saying that you can also just go to the beach, which is a very nice beach, with a nice shallow sea, which is super safe for the children. You can rent anything here such as a canoe or a pedal boat. At the surfing and sailing school you will learn various water sports. Lying in the sun all day long is done in the sand, or on the grassy lawns.
Pizzeria and à la carte: the restaurant of this campground is right next to the theater. The pizzas come from the wood-fired oven and, of course, you drink a local wine. The kitchen takes into account all your needs, so if you want to go for a gluten-free meal, you can. Want to make it a little easier? Then take a half-board, and you’ll have breakfast and dinner in advance. At the beach you will find a beach bar, where you can get some snacks and drinks, or enjoy a quick lunch. Here you will enjoy dance nights twice a week, with live music and theme nights. Important sports are broadcast on big screens here. Next to the restaurant, by the way, is Bar Gelateria, for ice creams, Italian wines and long drinks. At the pool complex there is a kiosk, also for some snacks and some drinks.
The central site for so many activities is the open-air Teatro Arena theater. At night, spectacular shows are held here, but this is also a fine meeting place. For the smallest children, there is a mini-club, where creativity and sports take center stage. The animation team will make sure you have an unforgettable vacation: if you want to visit the surrounding islands, join an excursion on the catamaran. Among other things, you can go to pilgrimage island Barbana, or to natural park Foce dell’Isonzo. A repopulation is underway on this island for rare birds and wild horses.
In terms of sports and recreation, too, things are fine here. From table tennis, tennis, soccer, beach volleyball, basketball and aerobics, you don’t have to sit still here. Or rent a bike and explore the area, through the many fun routes. Entertainment and sports often go hand in hand at this campground, so the soccer field is a place where you can always put together a team. Or take lessons at the surf and sailing school for various water sports, such as kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, etcetera. You’re at the beach, so why not?
Don’t feel like cooking for yourself, or prefer to have your breakfast on your own terrace? There is a neighborhood grocery store, where you can buy fresh bread, milk, fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, pastries and more. At the restaurant you can also get ready-made meals. Of course, you’ll also buy camping gear here, should the need arise. Furthermore, all Italian newspapers are here, as are most foreign newspapers and magazines. Tobacco also available here.
Sail a boat along the lagoons. It is said that the campground is located on perhaps the most beautiful lagoon, but you may find a special place, where the most beautiful water birds congregate. The sea here is calm, nature overwhelming: the location of this campground is accordingly. The many islets are interesting and beautiful. Of course, a trip to Trieste or Venice is always a must.
