Camping Mareblu

Camping Mareblu swimming pool

Camping Mareblu is located near the town of Cecina in beautiful Tuscany. In just a few steps you are already in the sea and have a beautiful view of the Tuscan coast. The only thing separating the campground from the sea is an insane pine forest, where you can enjoy a picnic. The campground is flat and has everything you need to make it a very successful vacation. And with cities like Pisa, Florence and Siena within driving distance, that shouldn’t be a problem. Take a splash in the pool, dine out at the restaurant and walk or bike around this car-free family campground in peace.

Location and environment

A bright sun, blue sky: on clear days, from the beach you can see the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, such as Elba, Capraia and Gorgona. Camping Mareblu is close to the most beautiful places in Tuscany. Cities like Florence, Pisa and Siena are excellent for a day trip and not too far away, but the many smaller medieval towns in the area are just as worthwhile. Volterra, for example. Surrounded by walls from the Middle Ages and accessible through gates such as Porta all’arco and Porta e Selci. Go to the Piazza dei Priori, with its City Hall and the Priori Palace, or the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Torre Campaneria. Or go to San Gimignano, with its many medieval houses and the huge tower Torre Grossa. Near Rocca di Montestaffoli you will find many famous wines and a wine museum. Indispensable is also Monteriggioni, at the top of a hill. Other towns you should definitely visit are Bolgheri, Casale Marittimo and Castagneto Caducci.

Pitches

Camping Mareblu covers about ten hectares of land and is flat. Right in front of the campground is a guarded parking lot: parking is not allowed on the site itself, in order to ensure peace and security. Each camping spot measures about u70 to 80 square meters, although there are also spots specifically for tents. The total of about 300 sites are separated by hedges and you get access to 6 amp electricity. The campground is full of huge pines, giving almost every spot nice shade. There are five sanitary buildings, which have showers, toilets, sinks, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers. Everything that requires hot water runs on coins.

Swimming

In the middle of the campground are the two swimming pools. The large pool measures 300 square meters and is 1.40 to 2.10 meters deep. The small pool is 42 square meters and is 40 centimeters deep and specially designed for toddlers. Around the pools are sun loungers and umbrellas. A lifeguard keeps a watchful eye, and remember: this is an Italian campground, so a bathing cap is mandatory. Camping guests get free access to the pools. Then you also have the beach. You first walk through a pine forest of nature reserve Tombolo di Cecina. The many fresh scents almost invite a picnic, but before you know it, you’re at the beach. This beach is a mix of coarse and fine sand, so shoes are recommended. The water slowly deepens, making it suitable for children. Depending on the wind, you can windsurf or kitesurf here. On windless days, of course, you can paddle.
