Located in the north of Limburg, between Helmond and Venlo, five-star campsite De Schatberg is a true vacation paradise. This large campground is particularly lively, with many activities and events. The Schatberg is built around a beautiful swimming pond, which consists of three lakes and also has its own subtropical swimming paradise. The centerpiece of The Treasure Mountain is the plaza, where the restaurants, the supermarket, the swimming pool and the many activities take place. Here is also the underground disco, billiards room and fun hall. At the edge of the campground is the Fun & Entertainment Centre Sevenum (FEC), where there is much more to experience. The area De Groote Peel invites you for fine bicycle tours. Cities like Venlo and Eindhoven are fun to visit and very nearby is Toverland amusement park. Camping De Schatberg is large and highly recommended for families with children. But the campground also offers accommodations for large groups, up to 35 people. Something for every party, in other words.
Camping De Schatberg is located in the north of Limburg, between Helmond / Eindhoven and Venlo. This is De Groote Peel, where you can do fantastic biking and hiking. Nearby are quaint, authentic villages such as Panningen, Maasbree and Sevenum, all of which have their own charm. Also nearby is the famous amusement park Toverland, which is guaranteed to be a fun day. Bargain hunter? Then head to Designer Outlet Roermond, or go shopping in the cities already mentioned.
Camping De Schatberg offers huge choices when you travel to the park with your tent, caravan or motorhome. Sure, you can just get a spot and celebrate your vacation exactly as you always do. But you can also get private bathroom facilities here. A toilet, sinks and showers just for you alone. Nothing to share with the other campers. A little more luxury? How about your own kitchen? No, not the one in your caravan, but just really on your pitch. Or take the whole package: a spot of 120 square meters, with kitchen, sanitary facilities and a private bath with sauna. Well, those are the options. The locations are also interesting. If you are coming with the kids, reserving a spot at the special Mattel Play! field is a nice one: entrance to this play paradise is close by and included. Scattered around the campsite are several playgrounds, but obviously not as spectacular as this one. Coming with the dog(s)? This campground is very pet-friendly. There are special dog fields, a trimming course and dog toilets.
As with pitches, there is also a huge amount of choice when it comes to accommodations. From fully equipped bungalows, or a chalet, or glamping. There is also a choice in terms of location, from the edge of the woods to near the FEC. The cottages are also of different sizes, and parties of two to as many as 32 people are welcome here. The cottages all have lots of privacy, are equipped with many luxuries and are an excellent base for exploring the campground or the surrounding area. It is just a matter of browsing around the various accommodation providers.
At Camping De Schatberg, you will find more than 900 square meters of pools, and they are both indoor and outdoor. The indoor pool has a slide and a rapids. In addition, there is a nice warm paddling pool with plenty of toys, so the little ones are sure to have a wonderful time. In the meantime, you can seat yourself in a whirlpool and relax. The pools are also open to non-guests, but they pay an entrance fee and camping guests do not. The outdoor pools are only open during the summer months and they move from shallow to deeper water, making it naturally enjoyable for little ones. Then there is the swimming lake, with a meter-long sandy beach and sunbathing area. Anything goes on this water: sail a boat there, float on your air mattress or opt for a SUP board. Or cast a fishing rod!
A restaurant? Lots of restaurants! The campground itself has the Plaza restaurant, for your hot and cold lunch dishes, a cup of coffee and a Limburg flan. There is a wide beer list, cocktails and wines. The Plaza is the heart of the park, around which, in fact, everything happens. At the Snack Point you can get fries and snacks, lunch is at De Schatberg, with sandwiches, soups, sandwiches and salads. In the Serre Restaurant you have a beautiful view of the water. Furthermore, there is FEC, where there are no fewer than 11 restaurants with a huge selection of dishes. Will you go for nostalgic Italy, for Mexican tacos, for pancakes, grills, fish soup and so on? No, within the confines of this campground you will not starve and there is choice every day. Otherwise, why not go to the nearby villages?
At this campground there is entertainment all year round, for all ages. Popular is the Tommie & Lila Club, for toddlers ages 0 to 10. Then you have TED, from ages 10 to 18, and you have D-Joy, from ages 18 and up. The activities are too many to list, but think about scavenger hunts and riddles, crafts, Mad Science, escapegames, bike rentals, sports, soccer darts. In short, there is plenty to do every day, not to mention the nearby FEC. There is also a huge amount to do here. Jumping, playing, enjoying and the already mentioned delicious food. Further up the campground is also a pond for fishing. Or go water skiing down a line, at the Seven Twenty Cablepark.
As in many campsites, in many cases the entertainment is close to sports and recreation. There are many sports fields, such as bowling alleys, Adventure Golf, paintball and many playgrounds. KlimKong climbing park is popular, with 15- to 22-meter-high wooden poles with platforms, many rope ladders, bridges, lianas and cable cars. Mattel Play! Is an indoor playground with eight rides, featuring TV heroes like Bob the Builder. Here, playing, learning and discovering together is key. Of course, you can bike and hike in the area.
The vacation store is a SPAR: Enjoy De Schatberg. Here you can get breakfast such as fresh sandwiches, drinks, vegetables, fruits and they sell delicious barbecue meat. They also offer toys, swimming gear and camping gear. The nice thing is: you can order your entire groceries online first. Then you can come and pick it up yourself, or have it delivered. You pay afterwards.
An incredibly fun outing is Mind Mystery in Holst. This amusement park tells the story of Siebrandt Jacob of Moelberen, a man with a million ideas. He created quirky objects and built them. This tad peculiar gentleman led a reclusive existence on the edge of the forest, with his parrots Coco and Louis. A wonderfully wondrous park, then, where you will further unravel Siebrandt’s story. Fun for young and old alike!
