Camping Gulperberg is located, how could it be otherwise, on Gulperberg Mountain. This terraced campground is located on the southern slope of this mountain, giving you an insane view of the beautiful South Limburg landscape from almost every spot. You can see the Drielandenpunt and the small rivers Geul and Gulp; in short, you can see miles away. The mountain is heavily forested, which also puts the campground in a wooded area, and the campground concentrates mainly on families with children. Entertainment is tiptop and revolves around Professor Bergje and the Gulps. There is also a fine playground and a beautiful outdoor swimming pool. These mountainous surroundings sometimes make you forget that you are really in the Netherlands after all. If that’s not a vacation!

Location and environment

Camping Gulperberg is thus located in the heart of South Limburg. The landscape here is mountainous and thus hard to imagine that you are really in the Netherlands after all. Gulper Mountain is located in the dual-current country, between the Geul and Gulp rivers. Nearby, for example, you can find the triangle of Maastricht, Valkenburg and Vaals. Immerse yourself in a landscape with a truly Burgundian atmosphere. With water mills, castles and ancient abbeys. With villages with old half-timbered houses. Let’s see how they brew beer? The Gulpener brewery promises you a complete experience. The area lends itself perfectly to biking or hiking and having a cup of coffee or lunch in one of those many fine villages nearby. For cyclists and mountain bikers, the Gulperberg is a well-known mountain thanks to the cycling race Amstel Gold Race. Close to the campsite you can find the monument former cyclist Jean Nelissen. Also be sure to visit the caves and fairytale forest in Valkenburg. Or ride the steam train; 22 kilometers straight through the countryside.

Pitches

Camping Gulperberg offers campers the finest view spots. If you come with a caravan, folding trailer or motorhome, be sure to pay attention: most of the roads to the campsite are 14% and therefore very steep. However, there is a road that is doable for heavier equipment: drive to Gulpen first, towards Mosaqua subtropical swimming paradise. From here, the campground is easily accessible. The pitches are at the back of the campground and therefore a little higher. For the best view spots, you pay a little more. There are choices in where and how you want to pitch; what kind of view do you want, how much comfort do you want, and are you coming with a pet? Sites are located near good plumbing. Each site also has access to 10 amp power, a TV hookup and water supply and drainage.

Accommodations

Therefore, if the pitches are at the back of the campground, the accommodations are at the front of the campground. Close to the pool, restaurant and entertainment. The winding paths right through the woods complete the romance here, because yes: your spot is in the middle of greenery and the choice is extensive. No worries, you can just park your car next to your cottage. From airlodges to different types of chalets and lodges. These accommodations are also available during winter periods. The spots are fully furnished and fully equipped. Of course, there are also opportunities for views or a panoramic terrace here.

Swimming

Camping Gulperberg has a fine outdoor swimming pool with a spacious sunbathing area around it. The pool is located near the entrance and thus is close to the sports field, terrace and restaurant. A short kilometer away and a ten-minute walk from the campsite is also subtropical swimming paradise Mosaqua. Campground guests receive free admission to this water park every day. This one is indoor and spectacular, with a 92-meter-long slide with light and laser effects, a winding whitewater course, a Pirate Ship and a Jungle pool for toddlers. Moreover, you can also relax here in a whirlpool, a steam room and in the infrared. In short: there is swimming fun in nice summer temperatures at the campsite, but in typical Dutch weather, diverting to the indoor pool is a very small effort

Restaurants

Of course, you can just eat good food at this campground, at Jantje Zag Eens Pruimen Hangen. You’ll find coffee and typical Limburg flan here, of course. For children, so-called crook dishes are served. The restaurant has a Panorama Terrace with several pieces of playground equipment, so it is ideal for children. There are also several restaurants in the village of Gulpen, for variety. At the supermarket Winkel van Jantje, you can also get takeout food.

Animation

In Gulper Mountain lives a funny people: the Gulps. And Professor Bergje is a Snuffle Eye, always looking for things to discover. He does so in conjunction with the Gulps. The recreation team is always coming up with fun events to keep the children busy such as scavenger hunts and sports competitions. In addition, picnics are organized as well as playback shows. For the sporty camper, there is a spacious field for sports such as volleyball and basketball. But really, this is an area for cyclists. For mountain bikers and cyclists, this is truly a Valhalla. The camp store is called Shop by Jantje. Through an order list, you order what you want the day before and the next morning it is ready for you. Here you can also pick up dishes in the evening to eat at your own place. In Gulpen you will also find a supermarket, the camp store has mostly the necessities.
