Camping Bospark ‘t Wolfsven is a Roompot campground and is located on the edge of the Strabrechtse Heide, near the town of Mierlo. That means the campsite is surrounded by beautiful natural beauty; this heathland can safely be called one of the more beautiful natural areas in the Netherlands. Moreover, it is in a fine location to do many excursions. There is also a lot to do at this family campground: not only is there an indoor pool, there is also a lovely lake for swimming. On a second lake you can pedal boats and fish. Rent a cottage in this fantastic area with the whole family, let the children be entertained by Koos Konijn and discover this unique part of the Netherlands.
So the Strabrechtse Heide, in the municipalities of Heeze-Leende, Someren and Geldrop-Mierlo. An area of some 1,500 acres, with Galgenberg in the middle, a small patch of open drifting sand with typical flora and fauna. The moor joins other moors, making it a huge area. This heathland is a Natura 2000 site. But there is also much to do in the area within a short drive. Just a day trip to Eindhoven? That’s just 15 minutes away by car. But think also of Toverland amusement park, Dierenrijk, Kasteel Geldrop, Speelschuur, Van Gogh Village, DAF Museum, Van Abbemuseum, Philips Museum, preHistoric Village, de Ontdekfabriek, DippieDoe Familiepark, BestZoo, Bakkerijmuseum, Zoo Parc Overloon, Beekse Bergen, Limburgs Museum, Thermaalbad Arcen… In other words, there are a huge number of day trips to think of from this campsite! Or how about a trip to Germany or Belgium? Even The Efteling is within easy driving distance.
The camping pitches of Camping Bospark ‘t Wolfsven are spread over several fields, with pretty names like Butterfly, Woodpecker, Fox, Frog and Hedgehog. Always pay close attention to which spot you are assigned, in conjunction with the weather forecast. After all, you don’t have access to shade everywhere, which can be quite inconvenient during really sunny periods. Free Wi-Fi is available everywhere, you get 6 amps of electricity, a water tap, sewage disposal and a cable TV connection. There are two washrooms, which sometimes causes some crowding during the high season. A disabled toilet is available, for which you can get a key at the front desk. You will pay a deposit of 50 euros for this and you will have to show your disability card. This is to prevent abuse.
Dogs are welcome at this campground. There are three walking areas for four-legged friends and poop bags are available at the reception. Dogs must be leashed at all times and they are not welcome everywhere. For example, they are certainly not allowed to swim in the small lake for a while.

The campground has a fine indoor swimming pool, including a toddler and preschool pool. With two slides, a whirlpool and catering facilities, this is a great place to be. Snacks are also available during the high season; outside the high season, unfortunately, this is closed. Is the weather nice? Then a splash in the natural pool might be even more appealing. Actually, there are even three lakes: a fishing pond, a lake where you can paddle, and so one for swimming, including a beach and a sunbathing area, with picnic tables. Here, as mentioned, no dogs are allowed.
Restaurant De Wolfshoeve is an à la carte restaurant, where you get excellent portions at a reasonable price. It is wise to make reservations in advance. Here you can have excellent food in a fine place. From the terrace you have a view of the water. The campground also has an eatery/bar, where you can always watch live sports. In addition, there is a snack bar, for a quick bite.
This campground’s sports and entertainment program is free for campers and great fun for children. The latter is led by park mascot Koos (Rabbit). He will have the children doing crafts, singing and dancing, in addition to taking them to the mini disco. Investigate with the Hetty Witch Scavenger Hunt, go paddle boating on the lake, join the campfire or learn archery: there is plenty to do for youngsters.
There are plenty of sports facilities at Camping Bospark ‘t Wolfsven. If you really look at the surroundings, then it’s a good thing there are bike rentals: this is a walhalla for cyclists! But other sports are also available here, such as basketball, bocce ball, laser games and miniature golf. There are several playgrounds, sports and playing fields, a table tennis table, trampolines and, as mentioned, you can fish in the fish pond here. A variety of games can be played in the indoor playground.
For your fresh sandwiches and other necessities, of course, you can visit the camp supermarket. It opens at 8:30 a.m., so for early risers, it is advisable to stock up on breakfast at an earlier time. Above all, order a barbecue package as well, for a nice barbecue in the evening. When you purchase such a package, you get a disposable (free) barbecue, or a gas barbecue on loan. And if you don’t feel like saving all your dirty laundry until home, there’s also a laundromat. There are several villages nearby and thus supermarkets.
Trek deep into the Strabrechtse Heide to be surprised by the flora and fauna and the tranquility. Several brochures are available at reception, but what is the most beautiful spot on this heath? The moor is ideally suited for bicycle tours. Do the Gnome Trail and at The Sheepfold there is a lovely terrace for a well-deserved drink.
