Camping Beekse Bergen is already world famous for its name: it obviously belongs to the animal park in Hilvarenbeek. Want to go on safari in the Netherlands and sleep among the wild animals? Hear the roar of tigers and lions at night and be awakened by the birds in the morning? The adventure that the Beekse Bergen offers does not end at the recreation park, but continues during the overnight stay. And the Beekse Bergen gives you more, because it is a true vacation paradise. The Holiday Park, Playland, Lake Victoria with its large beach, Animal Kingdom and ZooParc: a weekend at Beekse Bergen has a lot more going for it than trekking through the Brabant Savannah on foot, by bike, by boat or by car. You spend the night among the animals.
The Beekse Bergen is located below Tilburg and near Hilvarenbeek. This beautiful area is home to many forests and moors, which also makes for great biking and hiking. Consider the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. In other words, not only is the amusement park definitely worth a visit, but the surrounding area is also beautiful. Towns like Bladel, Eersel and Oirschot are undoubtedly worth a visit. Big city nearby is Tilburg, where there is plenty to do culturally. The Beekse Bergen are also close to the Belgian border, and a trip to the beautiful historic center of Breda is really recommended.
Pitch your tent in the middle of nature: the Back2Basic option is for the adventurous. This is not a dedicated camping site, but you sit in an open field with a self-selected sleeping spot. Don’t worry, there are no wild animals running around here that could attack you at an unguarded moment, it is perfectly safe. Here you have a view of Lake Victoria. You can take the Safari Bus, train or boat from here to the rest of the park, such as Playland. By default, you get about 100 square meters at your disposal. Nearby you have modern sanitation facilities. Of course, there are also options for slightly more luxurious camping, with electricity, water, wifi, and more. The choice is entirely up to you.
The Safari Resort at the Beekse Bergen contains some 240 cottages. These are luxury vacation homes, log cabins, glamping tents, chalets and group accommodations. That means you can also stay overnight with groups of up to sixteen people. In addition, the accommodations vary in size, in theme, in facilities, in everything. Most of the cottages at Beekse Bergen are inspired by Africa, and sure enough: you’ll just have breakfast with the zebras and giraffes. Move into a treehouse and look out over the vast area. In 2022, the all-new pool complex opened at Camping Lake Resort Beekse Bergen. The heated pool offers you hours of water fun. You can swim laps in the large pool. There is an incredibly fun separate toddler and preschool pool where toddlers and preschoolers will have a great time. There are several pieces of playground equipment for them to play on and slides to slide down. In addition, there is a slide and a whitewater course. Parents unwind in the relaxation pool and hot tub. And in the meantime, enjoy the beautiful view of the great Lake Victoria.
After a great day at the Safari Park, Playland or at the resort, end your day at Labadi restaurant. Enjoy the most delicious dishes there while overlooking Lake Victoria. The restaurant is completely decorated in African style, like the beaded wall. You can go there for a cup of coffee on the terrace, lunch and dinner as well as a nice cocktail.
In addition, De Beekse Bergen has more restaurants. At Wanyama you eat African fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. There are several places in Kongo Square where you can grab a bite to eat, such as the Kongo restaurant. No, you can certainly still eat fine food at the Beekse Bergen, but trips to the already mentioned nearby towns will also give you restaurants where you can eat excellent food.
The Beekse Bergen entertainment team are called and Rangers and they have a fine offering. They provide craft projects, scavenger hunts, sports competitions. They are located at the Ranger Basecamp near the Kodidi Ground in Ganvie Village. That’s where collecting is done then. The Kodidi Ground also has a large indoor play area, with various steps, walkways and more. So climb around like a monkey here and slide back down the long slide.
The Beekse Bergen offers a huge amount of recreation, in addition to the wildlife the park is so famous for. A playground, funwheels, a toddler playground, a beach, many swings, a baby carriage track, an adventure island, trampolines, big wheels, mini golf, an air trampoline, kidkarts, mini-cars, a waverider, a duo waterslide, pedal boats, an aqua shuttle, and we could go on and on. For adults, there is a multi-purpose sports ground, where you can play badminton, soccer and volleyball. A good recommendation is to bring bicycles, or rent them at the park. The area is a very nice cycling area, full of beautiful meadows, lovely forests and picturesque towns.
The supermarket was also destroyed by the fire. Of course, there are temporary facilities, so you can also just go shopping. There is the Market, where various products, such as fresh bread, can be purchased. Of course, you will find several supermarkets in Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek, so doing extensive shopping is never far away.
Look carefully at the accommodations, because you can sleep very special at the Beekse Bergen. The Luxe Savanne Lodge is right on the savannah, so you can see the animals hopping around in the morning. The true adventurer takes a treehouse. It’s cozy, you have a view of Lake Victoria and the savannah, and you see animals walking everywhere
