Camping Beerze Bulten is a great 5-star campsite in Overijssel. It has been a very popular family campground for years and has been “Camping of the Year” several times, an award from the ANWB. In 2023, that was about the Most Outstanding Rental with their brand new Wrap House. Camping Beerze Bulten is a favorite among children up to age 12 because there is so much to do that you don’t have to leave the campsite during your vacation. The whole family will have fun in the indoor or outdoor pool, there are an awful lot of playgrounds at the campsite and there is a very large playground, the Giga Konijnenveld. Here children can climb, clamber and play with water and sand. For sure the kids will have hours of fun here. But the indoor playground, Giga Konijnenhol, is also a favorite at the campground. There are still many camping pitches here, but in addition you will find the nicest and most beautiful rental accommodations at this campsite. Camping Beerze Bulten is a top campsite for the whole season!
Camping Beerze Bulten is located in the middle of Overijssel’s greenery, with the Vecht River on one side and sand drifts and forests on the other. As the name suggests, the campground is located on sloping terrain so you have to deal with height differences.
The campground is car-free, allowing children to ride their bikes and play without worry. Only on arrival and departure days are cars allowed on the grounds. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained as well.
In addition, you walk straight into the forest where several beautiful hiking trails are marked, such as the 11-kilometer Beerze Path. There is a fun scavenger hunt especially for children, the Beerze Rangers Adventure Trail. By solving assignments and riddles, children can become a Beerze Ranger! And if not, there’s bound to be another great trail for you, because there are 1300 km of hiking trails to choose from!
You can canoe on the Vecht; canoes can be rented at the campground. If you are up for a challenge, we recommend the drop-off trip of about 4 hours to Ommen. If you have a SUP, bring it to the campground because you can do this very well on the Vecht.
If you want to spend a day at an amusement park, then Avonturenpark Hellendoorn, Plopsaland Indoor Coevoorden or Attractiepark Slagharen are options. And in the area you will find several nice villages, including Hanseatic town Ommen. Or go to Hardenberg for a day.
At Camping Beerze Bulten you can still enjoy camping. The very spacious sites have plenty of shade and are playfully laid out. As mentioned earlier, the campground is on a rolling landscape and you have to deal with elevation changes. There are more than 30 (small) playgrounds in the campground, so there is always a playground close to your camping spot where the children can enjoy playing.
There are five different camping spots, we will describe them in more detail below. What is true of all pitches is that they are equipped with 8 amps of electricity (increase is possible), a private water point and private sewer.
If you want another camping spot but private sanitary facilities, you can also rent a private cabin in the sanitary building (Bibi).
You book all pitches through Camping Beerze Bulten or through ANWB.
There are three sanitary buildings, two of which are even partially underground! The plumbing is heated and kept very clean. Sanitary building Bultje is just new and has nice children’s showers and sinks at children’s height. What is very nice is that you do not shower here with coins.
In sanitary building Beerze you will find spacious bathrooms with toilet, shower and sink suitable for the disabled.
Besides camping spots, you can also rent very cool accommodations at Camping Beerze Bulten. For example, there you have the Wrap House (XL). This accommodation was selected by ANWB in 2023 as Most Exceptional Rental Accommodation of Year. It is a sustainable lodge made from recycled materials. The accommodations are brand new (2022) and feature air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. There are now also two other versions namely the Wikkelhouse (compact), where 4 people can sleep thanks to the double bed over the bathroom and the 2-person folding bed. In 2024, the newest version, Wraphouse Duo, will open. In this semi-detached accommodation, the living and sleeping areas are separated.
Probably the most favorite rental accommodation is the Youpi! Lodge. This lodge offers you the ultimate glamping feeling with its tent look, but equipped with all comforts. There is a gas fireplace, bathroom with shower, covered porch and even a dishwasher.
The Vechtglamping Lodge is a safari tent with riverfront location. The lodge stands on a wooden decking, has a bathroom with shower, a lounge set and a nice picnic bench.
There are also the Sun and Summer Lodge, the Wooden Bungalow, the Trek-in and the Hill Chalet. Also, Camping Beerze Bulten also has two group accommodations if you are vacationing with a large group of friends or family. The Family House can accommodate 16 people and has its own hot tub. There is also a large bbq, a large terrace and a playroom. Farm de Vechtvallei can accommodate 12 people and overlooks the Vecht River. There is a large bbq, a spacious living room with stove and luxuriously equipped kitchen.
There are two swimming pools at Camping Beerze Bulten: one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor pool is Adventure Island and has two cool slides. The paddling pool also has a slide and also lots of playground equipment. There is even a wellness area with water jets and massage jets.
The outdoor pool is heated and has a large 3-lane slide and hot tub. The paddling pools were renovated in 2023 and have plenty of play equipment. If you want to take a rest, plop down on one of the deck chairs or on your towel on the large sunbathing area.
In 2023, the spray park Giga Spetterpark opened! This delightful water play area is super fun, for young and old alike. Because there is a very shallow layer of water, this spray park is super fun for all ages. There are slides, water sprayers, tumbling buckets and more.
If you want to relax, you can visit the wellness center at the campground. There are several saunas such as a Finnish & Bio sauna, a steam bath and a private sauna. There is also a salt cave, built from salt blocks from the Himalayan mountains which has a relaxing and medicinal effect. You will also find a rest room and a roof terrace. At the beauty salon, book one of several treatments. How about a fine facial, a pedicure or a wonderful (hot stone) massage. Several packages can be booked including a Duo package and a Princess treatment especially for children.
You also don’t have to leave the campground for fine dining. Brasserie Haghorst is a fine family restaurant for lunch and dinner. There is a children’s corner where the kids can play, or in the playground while you sit on the spacious terrace. There is also a separate menu for children.
At the Giga Rabbit Hole, you can also get something to eat and drink at Bultje’s Dining Room. This is a place for treats such as fries and snacks. If you prefer to eat at your own pitch or accommodation, you can also pick up food here.
A great asset of Camping Beerze Bulten is its enthusiastic animation team. There is an entertainment program throughout the year with various sports and games activities, such as slide races and sports competitions. But you can also do crafts or participate in the Giga Bingo Party.
Every year there is a new musical starring Bultje the Rabbit. There are also theater shows performed in the indoor or outdoor theater. Children can practice the songs in advance thanks to the special Spotify list or the YouTube channel.
There is so much to do at Camping Beerze Bulten, but one of the top attractions is the Giga Rabbit Hole. This is an indoor playground and it also looks like a rabbit hole, since it is underground. It’s really great play here for the kids with a big Ufo, ball pit and a big climbing apparatus. For the little ones, there is separate baby corner where they can play nicely. You’ll also find Bultje’s Dining Room for a drink and a tasty snack.
The other topper is the Giga bunny field. This is a very large outdoor playground with a large play pond where you can also swim. There are wooden climbing equipment, water pumps, bridges over the water: children can climb and scramble here, but most of all play and get dirty.
Humps Garden is a nice playground, with cozy terrace where you can have a drink. In addition, you will find about 30 other playgrounds at the park.
Furthermore, you can also play sports at the campground on one of the three sports fields. There is a tennis court and a miniature golf course.
There is even a bowling alley, with crazy glow in the dark effects! Even with less beautiful weather, there is plenty to do at Camping Beerze Bulten.
In the gym, you can work on your health thanks to the various treadmills, weights, punching bag and steppers. If you want to exercise there with guidance, a coach is available. Yoga and bootcamp group classes are also offered.
For children ages 6 and up, the campground also offers the Beerze Rangers Adventure Trail (fee). You will go on an adventure in the woods next to the campground where you will have to complete all kinds of tasks and riddles. You will be given a knapsack and with it you will set out to successfully complete the assignments. If you succeed you will get a button.
Outside the campground, you can also do sports. Of course, you can find beautiful woods here, which you can walk to right from the campsite. But in addition, you can go mountain biking and cycling, which you can also rent at the campsite. Canoeing along the beautiful Vecht is also an option. At the campground you can rent canoes.
There is a SPAR supermarket at Camping Beerze Bulten. Not super large but hef still has a wide range. Here you can also buy fresh rolls in the morning.
There is a breakfast service where you can order breakfast, including individual sandwiches, as well as complete breakfast packages.
In Ommen/Harderberg you will find an Albert Heijn or a Jumbo.
Camping Beerze Bulten has its own app with which you can access your own reservation, opening hours, the activity program, the map and you can use it to make reservations for activities and the restaurant. And you can even open your door with it!
In the parking lot you will find a number of charging stations for electric cars.
