At Camping Noordduinen Molecaten in Katwijk aan Zee is located in the Dune and Flowerbulb Region and you are just one dune away from the beach. You walk in 5 minutes to the vast North Sea beach; in summer you can cool off and sunbathe there, in other seasons you can get a breath of fresh air. In addition, Camping Noordduinen has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool for even more water fun. At this family campground you will find a fun playground with a wooden pirate ship, a climbing wall and a varied entertainment program for children and families. There is plenty to do in the area, including Duinrell amusement park, Madurodam and Space Expo. You rent a spacious camping spot among the beautifully overgrown dunes. There are also rental accommodations available, such as several cottages and chalets. This campground is ideally suited for (young) families, rest seekers and beach & nature lovers.

Camping Noordduinen is located in Katwijk aan Zee, South Holland. Because the campground is located directly on the dunes, this is truly a seaside campground. You can walk to the beautiful North Sea beach in 5 minutes, making it a top campsite for beach lovers. It is also within walking distance of the harbor and the center of Katwijk.
In the area, you can take several scenic bike rides, such as the beach route or the monument bike route. And, of course, you can enjoy hiking, on the beach or around the campground.
The village of Katwijk is a real fishing village. The old center features winding streets and you can still find old fishermen’s houses. In the village there is a wide choice of restaurants, stores and don’t forget the Katwijk weekly market. For even more shopping fun, you can go to two different malls in the area. There is also a steam train museum in Katwijk, where of course you cannot skip a ride in a real old steam train.
Furthermore, in the surroundings of Katwijk there are many fun outings to be made. How about a day at Duinrell, just 30 minutes from the campsite. This also applies to miniature city Madurodam. In addition, a visit to museum Corpus is highly recommended, as is Space Expo.
If you visit this campground during tulip season, that is, between mid-April and mid-May, you are in luck. Because in the immediate vicinity there are many beautiful tulip and bulb fields. This really offers a fantastic sight and is typically Dutch. Another fun outing is to visit a picking garden: pick your own tulips, or other beautiful flowers, and turn them into a beautiful bouquet. Right from the field into your own vase. So plenty to do and experience when you’re at Camping Noordduinen.
The campground is located in the middle of the dunes and is terraced. The campground is divided into fields and looks playful. You rent a spacious camping spot among the beautifully overgrown dunes. There are two different pitches: a Basic pitch and a Comfort pitch. We will explain them below.
What we did find unfortunate is that you do not face each other with the entrance of your camping equipment, but you always look at the back of your neighbor. Or on the hedge separating the fields. This was determined by the campground.
There is only one toilet block for the entire campground. The toilet block is fairly in the middle of the campground though, is modern and kept well clean. There is also a laundry with washing machines and dryers.
If you don’t have your own camping equipment, luckily you can still go to Camping Noordduinen. In fact, you can rent two different types of vacation homes here: a Dune House or a Chalet.
The vacation homes type Duinhuisje net themselves like a small dune thanks to a roof covered with sand and plants, making it look like they are built into the dune. A nice bonus is that this keeps them nice and cool inside. The Dune Cottages are decorated with a Dutch theme, such as a beautiful panoramic wall photo of a Dutch sight in the living room. There are three types of the Duinhuisje available: a 4-person cottage of about 75m2, a 4-person cottage of about 75m2 suitable for the disabled and a 6-person cottage of about 110m2. The 4-person cottages have 2 bedrooms, the 6-person cottage has two floors, three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Furthermore, all types are equipped with underfloor heating, full kitchen equipment, a terrace with garden furniture and bed linen is included.
The North Sea and the North Sea beach right next to the campsite are unique to Camping Noordduinen. For a refreshing dip, go there. You walk there in about 5 minutes via a wide dune path. If you would like to swim in a pool, that is also possible. There is an indoor pool with a very nice, separate, toddler pool. Here your little one can splash and splash, play on the pirate boat and slide down the water slide. The other pool is not very big, but fun to splash around and play. There is also an outdoor pool especially for children where they can play and slide down the slide.
In the central building in the campground, in addition to the restaurant, you will find a snack bar and a place where you can buy take-out pizza. The restaurant has a small, a la carte, menu.
There are several beach bars on the beach where you can also have a good meal. Of course, the same goes for the village of Katwijk, which has many restaurants, whether on the promenade or not.
A Molecaten campsite has its own mascots, namely Molly and Caatje. They are part of the enthusiastic animation team at Camping Noordduinen. A varied entertainment program is offered during the summer and autumn vacations. Thus, craft mornings are organized, as well as a mini-disco and various sports and games activities. In addition, there are two Molly & Caatje shows especially for all children. The nice thing is, you can already listen to the music at home via the Spotify list so your child can sing along during the shows! You can also use the website to download coloring pages and a Molly & Caatje memory game. Now that’s vacation fun!
There are several playgrounds scattered throughout the campground. In front of the campground is a large and fun playground for even more fun.
If you love skating and skateboarding, be sure to bring that. In fact, the campground has its own skating rink. There is also a table tennis table, sports field and beach volleyball at Camping Noordduinen.
In the bread boutique you buy delicious fresh bread. However, there is no supermarket at the campground itself. However, there are plenty of (large) supermarkets in the area where you can do your shopping.
The grounds are guarded and you have access by pass.
An RV service station is available.
