Camping De Oase is located in perhaps the most ideal spot in beautiful Zealand. Close to the center of the bustling seaside town of Renesse, close to the beach, a stone’s throw from so much natural beauty and yet wonderfully quiet and hidden away. This family campground harbors enormous greenery and nice space, allowing you to enjoy your privacy to the fullest. There is plenty of playground equipment for children, where they can play and romp to their hearts’ content. The wildly enthusiastic animation team is only there during the high season, but then they really make it a lot of fun. So want to go to the lively, Zeeland coast with the whole family? Then Camping De Oase is extremely suitable, because at the campsite itself you will find absolute rest, while nearby there are enough activities to experience to really make it a party as well. And because it is a true family campground, groups of young people under 21 are not allowed. Renesse is of course known for its nightlife and young people, but for this age group there are several campsites in this area. In this way, Camping De Oase really does become an oasis.
Camping De Oase is located near Renesse, on Schouwen-Duiveland. Walking distance is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but Camping De Oase is wonderfully close to the North Sea beach. Shuttles to the beach leave every so often from the Transferium opposite the campground, so you don’t have to worry about long distances. This beach is ideal for walking, sunbathing, biking, kite flying or just swimming. Opposite the beach is the beautiful forest Westerschouwen, where you can take a nice sheltered walk. Then again, the center of cozy Renesse is within walking distance of the campground. This town is full of nice restaurants and quaint stores, so there is always something to do here. There is also plenty of entertainment around the campground. Almost a must for everyone is, of course, the spectacular Delta Park Neeltje Jans. Here you will learn all about the Delta Works, the flood disaster and the storm surge barrier. But also consider Waterjump Brouwersdam, or Trampoline Center Westerschouwen. Visit the town of Zierikzee, or go to museums like the Blikmuseum or the Camera Museum. Cities such as Middelburg and Domburg, albeit a little further, are also within easy reach. In particular, Middelburg is a beautiful city.
At Camping De Oase there are spacious camping sites, although they are slowly being swallowed up by cottages and chalets. But the pitches are still there, with well-maintained washrooms always nearby. You will have access to water, electricity, a television connection and Wi-Fi at your spot. So bring your caravan or tent and confiscate such a green shady spot.
Fewer pitches automatically means more accommodations. Consequently, these come in all shapes and sizes at this campground, and the inventories of these homes also differ. Will you go for a cozy 20 square meters, or a much more spacious option? The accommodations can be booked through different providers, which in turn offer different types. So look mainly at your own preferences and desires and in that way arrive at your perfect cottage!
Camping De Oase itself does not have a pool on its premises, but the beach is of course close by. The shuttle service gets you there in no time, or you just grab a bike or car. By the way, a walk is doable, it is only two kilometers and that walk is also far from tedious. Then on the Noordstreestrand or Strand Renesse there is much to do. There are numerous beach bars where you can go and the children can have a great time on the beach.
Camping De Oase also does not offer restaurants for lunch or dinner. Food trucks do occasionally stop by, but in general, a trip to old-fashioned Renesse is the best option. There are really dozens of delicious restaurants here. So will you go for the real seafood from Zeeland, or opt for the Italian or Chinese? You’ll find it all in Renesse.
At the campsite there are many playground equipment that the children will really not be bored for a moment. In high season, there is also an enthusiastic animation team. The Max & Lily Kidsclub is there for children from 3 to 14 years old and they will make sure the children lack nothing. Big attraction for the children is a large climbing castle where they can have an excellent romp and climb. This climbing device is popular with the youngest youth and guarantees lots of fun.
With the beach, so much greenery and a nice town nearby, there is plenty to do. Go horseback riding on the beach, or take a long beach walk. Of course, you can also learn to surf or practice other water sports here. A nice recommendation is to go to Brouwersdam. Here you will find an eight-meter-high ramp, which will give you a refreshing dip in Grevelingen Lake. At the campground itself you can play petanque and table tennis. In Renesse itself, there are tennis courts and a miniature golf park.
Camping De Oase is home to a camp store that offers freshly baked rolls, fresh orange juice, daily groceries and local produce. This little store is open early in the morning and closes its doors around dinner time. In Renesse itself there are several supermarkets, for some larger groceries. For example, a branch of Jumbo is located half a kilometer from the campsite.
A really fun option is to take a tour boat and look for seals. Zeeland may not be directly known for that, but they are there and, of course, excellent to see from the boat. Stellendam also has an expo on seals, so you can learn just a little more about these cute animals.
