Location and environment

Camping de Schotsman is super centrally located in Zeeland, in Kamperland to be exact. The campsite is right on Lake Veere overlooking Veere, but you’re also right on the beach and near the Oosterschelde. The cleanest beach in the Netherlands, Banjaardstrand, is just 3 km from the campsite. The campground is located in the nature reserve de Schotsman, a former sandbar which is now a beautiful hiking and biking area.

If you want to get out for the day, you have more than enough choices for one vacation. For example, a visit to Neeltje Jans and the Delta Works is, of course, a must. However, the towns of Veere and Middelburg are also recommended visits. For a more active day, a visit to the reptile zoo Iguana is a nice idea. Or go to the Arsenal in Vlissingen, which is a pirate park and sea aquarium.

Animation

In high season and school vacations, there is a very nice animation team on the campsite who organize all kinds of fun activities to keep your child, as well as yourself, busy. In the craft club, children can create the most beautiful works of art, and for the little ones (up to 5 years old) there is toddler fun. They play fun & educational games, such as finger painting, read-aloud stories and more. In addition, scavenger hunts are organized as well as various sports tournaments and play activities. There are also regular dance and theater shows or game shows.

On the days when there is no animation team, children can work on their own with the Crumb trail club. You earn stickers by doing various cool tasks scattered throughout the park. If your pass is full, you can pick up a gift at the front desk. On days when Alex & Sammie are present, then you can join them on the road to earn the stickers.
