We are going to Blanes, to the Costa Brava. Just a 55-minute drive from the French border and 45 minutes from Barcelona. To the green pines, to beautiful rock formations, to sandy beaches and to a deep blue Mediterranean Sea. Where you can be one with nature, while at the same time being in an incredible tourist area. Because the Costa Brava: this is one of those absolute European vacation destinations, where there is a huge amount to see everywhere. On the campsite itself there are two wonderful swimming pools, great sports facilities and with a short walk you are in the very lively center of Blanes. You could say that Camping Bella Terra is a very suitable family campground to get to know this area. Also for teenagers, as the nightlife of Blanes is world famous. Furthermore, no worries, this campground does not allow groups of young people and prides itself on being primarily a family campground.

Location and environment

Camping Bella Terra is thus located in Blanes, aka the gateway to the Costa Brava. The campground is located directly on S’Abanell beach, where of course you can do all kinds of water sports activities. Between the campground and the beach, you can stroll along a promenade. Nearby are natural parks like Cap de Creus, the Medes Islands and Aiguamolls de L’empordà, as well as towns like Cadaqués, Pals or Empúries and bays like Begur and Llafranc. In the latter stands the famous San Sebastian lighthouse. Camping Bella Terra is a quiet family campsite on one of the best beaches in Costa Brava. The campsite is located in the region of La Selva, bordering Baix Emporda. By the way, this is a very good location for families who do not have their own car; with the train and with the excellent public transportation just a short distance from the campground, you can get almost anywhere. So you can easily get to metropolis Barcelona. So the campground is in Blanes, which is ideal for slightly older children, who want to go out at night. Blanes is famous for its nightlife, which is mainly concentrated in the Los Pinos neighborhood. Also visit the botanical gardens in town, or the weekly market. Because remember: Blanes is more than the nightlife. Blanes is a fishing village, which really still retains some of its authenticity.

Pitches

Two types of pitches are offered at Camping Bella Terra. First of all, you have comfort: here you have 90 square meters at your disposal, with a 6 amp electrical connection, water supply and drainage. Then you have standard, where you have 70 to 80 square meters at your disposal and 5 amps of electricity. In either case, you can choose to stay somewhat near the beach or near the pool and sports area. The campground has many trees, which guarantees you plenty of shade. Moreover, you can always park your car near your spot. The washrooms have toilets, showers and washing machines and they are kept tremendously clean. In addition, you can use computers with Internet, if desired, at the reception desk.

Accommodations

The same goes for the accommodations: there is a choice between close to the beach, or close to the pool and sports area. You will find fully equipped and modernized bungalows, delightful in the Costa Brava. Here you get a pleasant contact with nature, because you are among pine trees. The kitchen in all bungalows have all the necessary equipment you could wish for, including a refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. There are four types of bungalows that also have different locations, so it is good to get your bearings: do you splash from your bungalow directly into the pool or into the sea?

Swimming

The campground has two different pools, with a large separate children’s pool with water play equipment. This pool is surrounded by palm trees and a lovely sunbathing area. You can always get ice cream, snacks and drinks here. The large pool has Jacuzzis with it and gentle waterfalls. The sea, of course, is close by, with a fine beach. Be sure to pay attention, because the sea gets deep pretty quickly. That beach is quite large, but there is another smaller, quieter beach just for campers. This is located behind the rocks, ask for it.

Restaurants

There are two restaurants in the campground: one with a very small menu, the other has a bit more choice. In addition, there is a snack bar, for the quick bite. All are quite affordable. On the terrace, witness the evening shows of the animation team. A 15-minute walk away is the center of Blanes, which is home to a huge amount of restaurants. The center there is bustling and there is much to do every night.

Animation

With its mini-club, the animation is mainly aimed at the little ones, although there is also a bingo and live music. This entertainment is mainly there during the summer months. This entertainment ranges from sports tournaments to dance shows. There are many playgrounds spread throughout the campground, so there really is plenty for the children to do.

Sports & Recreation

In terms of sports and recreation, Camping Bella Terra has really moved in the right direction in recent years. There is a sizable sports area, with a soccer field, a beach volleyball court, tennis courts, a table tennis table and a bocce court. There are spin classes as well as aqua aerobics, swimming and a gym. Of course, you can rent bikes here and explore the surroundings. Sports-loving campers are sure to have a great time here.

Stores

There is a small supermarket in the campground, with much-needed products such as fresh bread. The campground is quite oriented to Dutch people, which makes that people at the reception speak the language, for example. In the supermarket, for example, Dutch products become products. Nearby are also some supermarkets, for some larger groceries.

Details and tips

Water World amusement park is nearby and is hearty fun for the whole family. This is Europe’s largest water park, with 21 rides, six dining options, lounging areas and even bungee jumping. There are attractions for children, for family and some more extreme. Water Mountain is Europe’s longest whitewater course at 250 meters; here you will be flung from left to right and from light to dark.
