Camping Gavina

Four-star Camping Gavina is a true paradise right on the beach of the Costa Dorada. As part of Yelloh! Village here you will enjoy a top vacation together with your family. The campground is right on the beach, so from your rental accommodation or tent you are right in the sand with your feet. In addition, the tropical gardens, palm trees and small size are also huge pluses of Camping Gavina. Add to that the location, in the middle of nature among sand dunes and olive trees, and you’re sold.

Camping Gavina is the place for a relaxing vacation. Whether you go with your partner, with (young) children or with friends, this will be a great vacation. There is a beautiful water park at the campground, although the wide sandy beach will capture your attention even more. In the restaurant you can have a nice dinner and at the beach bar you can drink a cocktail. How nice is that!

The campground is not large with less than 270 spaces, and in addition, cars are not allowed to park near the accommodations. This means that it is a quiet and safe campground, where children can also play happily. Camping Gavina is a cozy and clean campsite where everyone can enjoy a wonderful vacation.

Location and environment

Camping Gavina is located in Creixell, near Tarragona on the beautiful Costa Dorada in Spain. From the beach you can see the castle of Tamarit in the distance. Furthermore, there are many rock formations and beautiful bays all around you. Camping Gavina is located in the natural reserve of Torredembarra and Creixell Beach, and as a result, the campsite has a great respect for nature. The entertainment program even includes an activity that introduces them to the environment and its biodiversity.

Camping Gavina is a quiet campsite for a relaxing vacation, but if you want to be active, it’s not difficult here. For example, several city trips are possible. How about visiting the metropolis of Barcelona? Discover the Sagrada Familia, finally finished, the Ramblas or Parc Guell. Or how about visiting the city of Tarragona, just 30 kilometers away. In addition, Sitges and Salou are also recommended visits. And the monastery of Montserrat, in the mountains, is also worth a visit.

The great amusement park PortAventura is less than a 30-minute drive from the campsite. This is one of Europe’s largest amusement parks with more than 40 different attractions. The park is suitable for young and old and we think you’ll want to stay longer after one day.

At the back of Camping Gavina does run a railroad line where trains run between Barcelona and Tarragona. Depending on where you are in the campground, you may possibly experience some inconvenience from this.

Pitches

If you want to go to Camping Gavina with your own tent, caravan or motorhome, that is simply possible. The campground has five types of pitches, facing the sea or just a little further from it. Dogs are allowed in the pitches. You book pitches through VacanceSelect, Allcamps and LuxCamp.

There are several bathroom facilities at Camping Gavina. All are modern and very clean. Sanitary facilities are cleaned throughout the day. Wheelchair-accessible restrooms and showers are available. There are also children’s sanitary facilities.

If you want to do some laundry during your vacation, you can do so in one of the washing machines and tumble dryers.

Accommodations

There is a wide range of different rental accommodations at Camping Gavina. Choose a mobile home, lodge tent, chalet or a luxury safari tent: it’s all possible here. You book rental accommodations through VacanceSelect, Allcamps, Eurocamp and LuxCamp. All rental accommodations are further described below. If you want to bring your dog, you can at Camping Gavina, but they are not welcome in every accommodation. If it can, it is explicitly stated.

Mobile Homes

Cottage Costa: a nice mobile home of 25m2 in size, suitable for 4 people. There are two bedrooms and the wooden porch is completely covered. Bed linen, towels and air conditioning are included in the price.
Tiny Home & Mezzanine: this is a cozy mobile home of 15m2. A maximum of 4 people can stay there. There is a bathroom, kitchen and two bedrooms. The terrace is a wooden porch with a parasol.
Taracco mobile home: of the Taracco mobile home are three different types. There is a 6 person mobile home of 30m2 in size with three bedrooms. The 4-person version is 25m2 and has 2 bedrooms. Then you also have the 2-person version which is also 25m2. This one has 1 bedroom. In all Taracco mobile homes, your dog is also welcome.
Eurocamp Comfort XL: the Comfort XL is a 28m2 mobile home with two bedrooms. A total of 4 people can stay overnight. The wooden porch is semi-covered.
Eurocamp Comfort: the Eurocamp Comfort mobile home is 31m2 and can accommodate 6 people. There are three bedrooms and here the wooden porch is also partially covered.

Safari tents & Lodgetents

At Camping Gavina, there is a wide range of glamping accommodations. There are really beautiful safari and lodge tents, whether directly on the beach or not! This is where you want to stay for a top vacation in Spain. Below we will explain them further:

Beach Cabin Sea View: do you want a relaxing vacation? Then you must book the Beach Cabin Sea View. You are right on the beach, overlooking the sea. Enjoy your breakfast, lunch, dinner or sunset while overlooking the sea! This tent is not very large (15m2) but has two bedrooms, making it suitable for 4 to 5 people. There is a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.
Beach Cabin 2nd row, partial ocean view: this cabin is the same as the Beach Cabin with ocean view, only with this cabin you are not guaranteed ocean view because you are in the 2nd row.
Lodgetent Safari & Mezzanine: this beautiful lodge tent is a whopping 27m2 and has 2 bedrooms. A total of 6 people can stay overnight. There is a full bathroom and the kitchen is also complete, including a dishwasher! Bed linen, towels and air conditioning are included in the price. The lodge tent has a wooden terrace that is completely covered. Of course, garden furniture is available.
Lodgetent Kenya: in this spacious 22m2 safari tent you can enjoy a true glamping vacation. Of course, you have your own bathroom (next to the tent), there is a complete kitchen (incl. large refrigerator) and there are two bedrooms where a total of 6 people can sleep (one bedroom has 2 bunk beds). The large terrace has garden furniture and you have sun beds. Air conditioning, bed linen and towels are included. There is no running water in the tent.
Lodgetent Luna: this is another beautiful glamping tent of 25m2 in size, which can accommodate 6 people. You have your own private bathroom, which is located next to the tent. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is a nice living room & kitchen and a spacious wooden terrace equipped with garden furniture and deck chairs. Air conditioning, bed linen and towels are included.
Lodgetent Victoria: this safari tent is slightly smaller, 20 m2, but can also accommodate 6 people. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom (next to the tent) and a covered terrace. Here you live mainly outside, there is a small living area/kitchen. The Lodgetent Victoria is located near the beach. Bed linen, air conditioning and towels are included. There is no running water in this tent.
Tent Sol: Tent Sol is a beautiful safari tent of 20m2 in size, with 2 bedrooms where a total of 4 people can sleep. The covered wooden terrace complements your living area with a large table with chairs and reclining chairs. There is a simple kitchenette with a refrigerator. Please note that there is no running water. However, air conditioning is available.
Tent Junior: The Junior tent is a fun (safari) tent for up to 5 people. The tent is 17m2 in size and has two bedrooms. There is a simple kitchenette with table-top refrigerator and microwave. You live mainly outside on the spacious, wooden, terrace equipped with parasol, garden furniture and deck chairs. In this tent you may bring your dog.
Tent Mayotte: the Mayotte tent is a fully equipped (bungalow) tent of 14m2 where up to 5 people can spend the night. There are two bedrooms and a living area with simple kitchenette (without running water). The terrace is in front of your tent and is equipped with garden furniture and a parasol. In this tent you can bring your dog!
Tent Emperador: the tent Emperador is a cozy tent that can accommodate 6 people. The tent is one space of 24m2 and has 2 double beds. Optionally, 2 more people can sleep on a mattress on the floor. There is a small refrigerator, but no kitchenette.
Tent Bell XL; this tent is 20m2 and has two 2-person mattresses on the ground. There is a small sitting area and a clothes rack.
Tent Bell: if there are only two of you and you don’t need much more than a mattress, then tent Bell is right for you. The tent is small (12m2), has a double mattress and a clothes rack. There is a small wooden porch and a picnic table next to the tent.

Chalets

In addition to the various tents and mobile homes, you also have a choice of two chalets at Camping Gavina:

Chalet Beach: chalet Beach is a cozy bungalow of 27m2 in size. There are two bedrooms that can accommodate up to 5 people. There is a bathroom and the fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator with freezer. The built-in terrace has garden furniture and deck chairs. This chalet includes air conditioning, bed linen and towels.
Chalet Dune: chalet Dune is 30m2 and can accommodate 6 people. There are two bedrooms with single beds and bunk beds. In the living room there is a sofa bed. There is 1 bathroom and in the kitchen there is a small refrigerator. This chalet includes air conditioning, bed linen and towels.

Swimming

Of course, Camping Gavina also has a swimming pool! Three even. The three circular pools are island-style and vary in depth. There are waterfalls, bridges, sprinklers and a fun paddling pool for toddlers.

The pool also hosts regular sports activities such as aqua gym.

However, the wide sandy beach is also a wonderful place to hang out. The beautiful Mediterranean Sea is literally at your feet and the beach invites you to soak up the sun. Because there are many bays to be found, this is also a top spot for snorkeling.

If you want to do something active on the water besides swimming, try kayaking, supping or bodyboarding. At the beach you can rent the various materials.

Restaurants

With your feet in the sand, under a wicker umbrella, enjoying a delicious dinner of Mediterranean dishes: at Camping Gavina’s restaurant this is a reality. There are tasty seasonal dishes on the menu such as various tapas appetizers, many fish dishes as well as paellas, pizzas and various meat dishes. For dessert, your choices include cheese cake or a delicious cheeseboard. Of course, there is also an extensive wine list. During your dinner you look out over the sea while live music is played (in the summer months). That’s vacation!

If you prefer to take some food back to your own accommodation, you can do that too. The restaurant is affordable and therefore you may enjoy it just a little bit more.

The Beach Bar is the place to go for a nice drink. They serve delicious cocktails and Spanish wines there.

Animation

Camping Gavina is not a large campsite, yet they offer a fun entertainment program for young and old. The enthusiastic animation team organizes various activities for different age groups. There is a Kids Club for children ages 5 to 7, where they can do crafts, attend workshops and play games. The Junior Club is for children ages 8 to 12. They have their own space where they can make new friends while participating in a variety of sports activities, such as paddling, diving and supping. They also do fun (creative) games there.

In the evenings there is a mini disco and where else can you do that but nice on the beach. Dance along with your bare feet to the cutest songs! In addition, movies are shown on the beach and there are several evening shows.

Various sports activities are organized for adults. Aquagym takes place in the pool and in the morning and evening you can join a yoga class on Criexell beach. There is even Sup Yoga: here you do your yoga exercises on a Sup board. There is a separate yoga and meditation agenda at Camping Gavina.

To learn more about the area around the campground, and its nature reserve, there is a weekly “Save the Planet” activity. In doing so, they introduce you to the environment and biodiversity.

The entertainment team speaks mostly Spanish and a little English. However, don’t let this deter you and join an activity.

Sports & Recreation

Although Camping Gavina is a wonderfully relaxing campground, there’s also plenty to do. In addition to the activities organized by the animation team, there is much more to do. There is a multi-sport court for kicking a ball around or for a game of basketball. There are table tennis tables, bocce courts and a paddle court. In the bouncy castle, children can jump out their energy.

As mentioned earlier, you can also practice various water sports such as kayaking, supping and diving. There is a beach volleyball court and if you want to explore the area rent a bike from the bike rental. Don’t forget to bring your snorkeling kit, or rent it at the campsite, because the underwater world is one you’ll want to explore as well. A bodyboard allows you to play in the waves.

Stores

The supermarket at Camping Gavina has a good selection for your daily groceries. You can also go there for fresh rolls daily. In addition, local regional products are sold.

If you prefer to go to a larger supermarket outside the campground, you’ll find the first one about a 5-minute drive away.

Details and tips

Camping Gavina has charging stations for electric cars. There is also a place where you can rinse/wash your car.

Camping Gavina is a true family campground and is virtually car-free, allowing your children to enjoy themselves.
