Camping La Torre Del Sol is a large 4-star campsite on the Costa Dorada in Spain. The campground is located directly on the beach and with multiple entrances you are right on the beautiful, coarse, sandy beach and its clear blue sea. There is also a fine water park with several pools, one of which is heated indoors, and a separate children’s pool. Little ones can in will have a great time in the pirate pool, with a water channel, tunnels and water jets. The slides complete the water park. For adults there is additionally a wellness area with a separate pool, multiple hot tubs and hot springs. Indulge in a massage or book the hammam.

The entire campground is tropically landscaped with many palm trees and other tropical plants. You will thus enjoy a wonderful vacation at a campsite where you will not be bored thanks to a great sports offer, a full entertainment program and many excursion possibilities. Camping La Torre Del Sol is a real teenage campsite with fun activities for this age group as well as its own disco and pub on the campsite grounds.

Please note that the campground is split into two parts by the railroad line. However, there are no more trains, but you will have to use the tunnel to go from one side to the other.

Location and environment

Camping La Torre Del Sol is located on the Costa Dorada in Spain. The village of Miami Platje is close to the campground. There are several restaurants and cafes in this town.

Furthermore, Barcelona is worth a visit. This metropolis is less than an hour from the campground and is great to visit. Explore the recently completed Sagrada Familia, the beautiful Parc Guell and stroll the Ramblas. If you are a soccer fan then of course a visit to FC Barcelona’s stadium, Camp Nou, is also mandatory.

Furthermore, Tarragona, Salou, Cambrils and Sitges are nice towns to visit. If you want to do something active, water park Secula Park is not far from the campsite, as is Spain’s largest theme park, PortAventura World.

Pitches

There are still plenty of camping spots available at Camping La Torre Del Sol. They are all grass sites and you should park your car in your camping spot. In the case of two cars, one car will have to be parked in the general parking lot. In total, there are four different types of pitches, most of which you can book through VacanceSelect, Allcamps and LuxCamp. Some places allow you to bring your dog, for a fee. We describe the differences below:

  • Mediterranean Comfort: These camping pitches are on the first four rows by the sea, thus facing the beach. Included are 2 people, caravan/tent/camper, 10A of electricity, Wifi and a parking space at your pitch.
  • Grand Comfort: this pitch is about 70m2 and can accommodate 6 people. 10A electricity is included as is a water site and drainage.
  • Comfort: this pitch is also 70m2 and has 10A electricity. A maximum of 6 people are allowed to stay.
  • Standard: this pitch is also 70m2 but you only have 6A of electricity here.

At Camping La Torre Del Sol there are several toilet blocks with children’s toilets. These are well kept clean by the cleaning service.

There are two laundry facilities with washing machines and dryers. The machines work with a token that you can buy at the front desk.

Accommodations

There is a wide choice of rental accommodations at Camping La Torre Del Sol. For example, there are mobile homes, bungalows and bungalow tents for rent. This is possible at Eurocamp, VacanceSelect, Allcamps and LuxCamp.Below we will explain them in more detail.

Mobile Homes

  • Cottage Wellness: this 30m2 mobile home has three bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a separate toilet. A total of 6 people can stay overnight. The wooden veranda has garden furniture and a private Jacuzzi! That’s luxury vacationing.
  • Excelle (with or without jacuzzi): the Excelle mobile home is 32m2 and also has three bedrooms suitable for 6 people. In the bathroom there is a sink and shower, the toilet is separate. The difference between the two Excelle mobile homes is that there is a version with a private Jacuzzi on the wooden deck. The other version has a stone decking with picnic table.
  • Cottage Acacia: this cottage is 30m2 and again has three bedrooms, a bathroom a separate toilet. Six people can stay overnight. The patio has a grass or sand surface.
  • Premium: the Eurocamp Premium mobile home is 32m2, sleeps 6 and has 3 bedrooms. Like the previous variants, this mobile home also has a separate toilet. The wooden veranda is (partially) covered and is equipped with garden furniture, a gas or grill and two sunbeds/chairs.
  • Cottage Palma: this mobile home is 29m2, has two bedrooms and can accommodate a maximum of 6 people (including two people on the sofa bed in the living room/kitchen). This mobile home also has a separate toilet. The patio is located on a grass or sand surface.
  • Comfort: of the Eurocamp Comfort mobile home is an XL variant. It is 33m2 in size, has three bedrooms and can sleep 6 people. The (half) covered wooden veranda is equipped with a gas or charcoal barbecue and two sun beds/chairs. The standard Comfort is the same as described above only this mobile home is just a little smaller with its 31m2.
  • Classic: the Eurocamp Classic mobile home comes in a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom variant suitable for up to 6 people. They are between 30 and 32m2 and have a wooden (semi-covered) veranda.

Bungalows

In addition to mobile homes, there are also several bungalows for rent at Camping La Torre Del Sol.

  • Chalet Mediterranean: This bungalow is 35m2 and has 3 bedrooms that can accommodate a total of 6 people. There is air conditioning and a spacious covered wooden porch.
  • Chalet Baobab: this large bungalow is a whopping 46m2 and has 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. There is a bathroom and the wooden terrace is fully covered. This chalet has air conditioning.
  • Chalet Mimosa: this bungalow is 32m2, has 2 bedrooms and can sleep 6 people. The wooden terrace is covered and the bungalow is air-conditioned.
  • Chalet Nature 2 rooms: this bungalow is slightly smaller and measures 30m2 and has 2 bedrooms. It can sleep 6 people as one bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed. The wooden terrace is covered.
  • Chalet Melia: another bungalow suitable for 6 people, divided into two bedrooms in a bungalow of 27m2 in size. The terrace is covered.
  • Chalet Bonsai: this chalet can accommodate up to 3 people, however, there is only 1 bedroom and there is a sofa bed in the living room. The chalet is 23m2 and has a small covered terrace.

Bungalow tents

  • Tienda Pagan: If you prefer to camp in a bungalow tent with private bathroom, then book the Tienda Pagan. This tent is 25m2 in size and has two sleeping cabins for up to 5 people. The bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink. There is also a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator. The terrace is equipped with a picnic table.

Swimming

There are plenty of pools for a vacation full of water fun. There are three large pools where you can take a splash. There is also a fun children’s pool, where you can also find the slides. Around the pools are sunbeds and there is lawn where you can also relax. In addition to the children’s pool, there is also a pirate pool for children. They can go in the fun play channel, there are tunnels and water jets. For sure they will have fun here! There is also a heated indoor pool for everyone aged 17 and older. Please note that men should wear tight swim trunks in this pool.

Then you also have the Zen swimming section. In the outdoor Jacuzzis, with waterfalls and water jets, you can bubble and relax. Furthermore, there are hot water, thermal, baths where you can also completely unwind. In both the outdoor Jacuzzis and hot tubs, you must be at least 17 years old. This area also contains a sauna, hammam, a slow river/jacuzzi and you can book massages. This part of the campground is completely dedicated to relaxation!

And then of course you have the fine beach directly adjacent to the campground. A staircase leads you to this beautiful sandy beach, which is cleaned daily. Enjoy the sun, the sea and the waves during your vacation at Camping La Torre Del Sol. It is smart to bring water shoes though, as there are many pebbles where you walk into the water.

Some pools are closed at noon. Furthermore, lifeguards are sometimes quite strict in checking for playing with a ball, etc.

Restaurants

When you go to Camping La Torre Del Sol, you don’t have to leave the campground for a bite to eat or a drink. There is a wide range of restaurants and bars for a stop to the pool or for a nice meal. At La Torre del Sol restaurant, you’ll enjoy Mediterranean dishes and a sea view. This restaurant is also suitable for children, and for anyone who likes grilled meat or fish. By the pool you will find restaurant Isola. There is also a large terrace where you can have a drink and a bite to eat, be it a snack or dinner. Near this restaurant is also the pizzeria, including a terrace. At the entrance to the campground is El Petit Racó where you can even go for breakfast. You can also have lunch and dinner there. For takeout, you must be at the Take Away, for such things as pizza or chicken on the spit. It is located next to La Torre del Sol restaurant. And then there are two ice cream parlors and a candy store.

If you just want a drink, slide into Bar Terraza. Cocktails are made in front of you while you enjoy live music or the mini disco. Then you also have the Chill Out, this is a fine chill bar where they serve cocktails. This bar can be found on top of the solarium roof.

There are two more beach bars on the beach. At beach bar La Torre del Sol you can get cold drinks, cocktails and snacks and enjoy live music in the evening. At Sol Lounge Beach Maykao (towards Cambrils), you can enjoy a delicious meal with your feet in the sand.

If you want to dance the night away, you can visit discotheque Rá during the high season. You can party, there is a snack bar and a chill out area. In the off-season, the pub is open with a dance area, bar and sitting areas.

Animation

Throughout the day there is something organized by the animation team. Therefore, there are different programs for all different ages. At the Baby Club, there are crafts, a ball pit and a fun playground. The Mini Club is for children ages 5 to 10. Games such as treasure hunts, sandcastle building, pool games and much more are organized. There are also special Pirate Nights and even sleepovers.

The Junior Club mainly organizes fun sports activities, such as soccer tournaments, archery, water polo or bubble soccer. An evening swimming activity is organized once a week.
Adults can also be active thanks to the sports activities organized for them. Think beach volleyball on the beach, water polo, bocce, as well as mountain bike tours, aqua aerobics or spinning classes. There is also a Hobby Club where you can do ceramics, watercolors or other painting activities.

In the evening, cool shows are performed in the theater. This also serves as a cinema where movies are shown in many languages.

Sports & Recreation

During your vacation at Camping La Torre Del Sol, there are lots of different sporting activities you can do. There are two tennis courts you can use for free, there is a padel court and there is even a squash court. Just outside the campground, accessible via a small tunnel, are the soccer and basketball fields. Tournaments or other activities are organized daily.

There is also a mini-golf course, table tennis tables and a is an extensive fitness room. If you prefer to work out outdoors, take advantage of the outdoor fitness equipment.

Children can expend their energy in the playground. For a game on the pinball machine or any other arcade device, head to the Playroom.

Stores

Camping La Torre Del Sol has everything you need to enjoy your vacation to the fullest and not have to leave the campsite. In the supermarket you will find all the basic groceries, as well as a butcher and you will find lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. At the bakery you can buy delicious bread and the tastiest croissants as well as many other delicious sweet snacks.

At the kiosk you can buy a nice souvenir or new swimwear, toys or a newspaper. Then there is also a hairdresser, should you get tired of your haircut!
