Most beautiful cities of Tuscany

Italy, of course, is known for its beautiful cities and has a large share of UNESCO’s World Heritage List. In Tuscany there are also plenty of cities to explore, such as Lucca, Florence and Siena which are all wonderful to visit. Lucca is known for its ancient city walls, which you can walk and bike over. There is also a beautiful square with picturesque houses and restaurants. During the summer months, the Lucca Summer Festival takes place where A-list artists make their appearance. Florence is the city of love and romance. This ancient city is known for its architecture and famous masterpieces, such as “David” by Michelangelo. The most famous sights are the magnificent Duomo with its impressive dome, Palazzo Vecchio and the Basilica of Santa Croce. Siena has a beautiful historic center which is still almost completely intact. Every year on July 2 and August 16, the important horse race Palio takes place, to which the entire city lives for days and many festivals and processions take place. It is definitely worth visiting Siena around the Palio! Then you also have beautiful villages in Tuscany that are also well worth visiting. Think San Gimignano, Volterra and Viareggio. All of them beautiful villages where it seems like you are going back in time. And where to eat the most delicious ice cream! If you’re in the area, don’t forget to take a picture at the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Tuscany by the sea

Tuscany has over 300 kilometers of coastline. The region borders the Ligurian Sea to the north and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the south. The sea there is very clear and has a beautiful azure color. The beaches are mostly fine sandy beaches where you can play and sunbathe. Therefore, the Tuscan coast is a great destination for a relaxing vacation. In addition to the mainland, off the coast of Tuscany lies the Tuscan archipelago. Of these, Elba is the largest and best-known island, and it also includes the islands of Capraia, Giglio, Montecristo, Gorgona, Giannutri and Pianosa. This whole area is protected nature reserve and together form a national park.

Most beautiful beaches in Tuscany

Camping Mareblu is suitable for the whole family thanks to its many animations, activities, age-mates and its location directly on a beautiful sandy beach. You have to walk a short distance through a pine forest to get to the private beach. With clear weather, you can see the islands of the Tuscan archipelago such as Elba! PuntAla Camp & Resort Campground

PuntAla Camp & Resort is a lovely 4-star campground in the middle of nature and just a 5-minute walk from a fantastic sandy beach. The clear blue waters and views of the Tuscan archipelago make this beach a picture. You can sail, SUP, play tennis and there are plenty of beautiful mountain bike trails in the immediate area. Located in southern Tuscany, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Orbetello Lagoon, Camping Orbetello Camping Village is a true glamping campsite in Italy. The child-friendly private sandy beach is just 70 meters from the campsite. There is also a large pool complex including jacuzzi and separate children’s pool. With a beautiful wide sandy beach just a 1-minute walk away, Camping Village Santapomata belongs in this list of campsites in Tuscany by the sea. The beaches surrounding the campground are among the most beautiful in Italy and are located in the Maremma nature reserve. Camping Park Albatros Village may not be directly by the sea in Tuscany, but you can reach the sandy beach after a short walk. Camping Baia Verde (Punta Ala) in Tuscany is located directly on a beautiful wide & long sandy beach in the natural reserve of La Maremma. Because the sea slowly deepens, it is extremely suitable for small children.
