According to many, perhaps the most beautiful campsite in all of Croatia: Bijela Uvala, on the Istrian peninsula. The campground is located directly on the Adriatic Sea, five kilometers south of fairytale Poreč. The beach is a pebble beach and measures as much as one and a half kilometers. Around the rocks is great snorkeling, you will be amazed by the underwater world here. The campground offers entertainment for all ages, with a swimming pool and disco nearby. From the bar, restaurant and swimming pool, you have breathtaking views of the sea. And Istria, Istria is and always has been a feast for the eyes, full of picturesque villages, beautiful seascapes and even a trip to Venice is easily included.
Not only the campsite is beautiful, the whole area is beautiful. Of course, a visit to nearby Poreč is a must. Its old center, full of bars and restaurants, is particularly lively. The town of Rovinj is also nice and close to here. Rovinj is known for its artists, who exhibit their work outdoors. It also provides a lively town, where there is plenty of movement especially in the evening hours. From Rovinj, a walk towards the St. Euphemia Church highly recommended. This church is located on a hill and from here you will enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the sea. A tourist train runs from the campsite to the coastal town of Funtana, but it might also be nice to look a little further afield. Venice is a short crossing and obviously hugely rewarding. Are you more into rugged nature? The beautiful lakes Plitvice are then recommended. A unique landscape in Europe!
Camping Bijela Uvala offers spacious camping pitches ranging from 90 to 110 square meters. So you can easily come here with your caravan or tent, but if you are looking for a little more luxury you can always upgrade this to bungalow tent or mobile home, or opt for glamping. All spots have electricity and you are completely free to barbecue here. There are two different types of pitches to choose from: classic and superior, so how luxurious do you want to make it for yourself? Are you traveling as a single parent with the children? You can reserve a spot at a separate field. Here a team organizes fun things, so you can also enjoy your own rest, or meet other people on the central terrace. It is also easy for children to make contact here.
Those bungalow tents, lodge tents and mobile homes are fully equipped and actually meet all your needs. They range from small to large and basic to luxurious, just what you feel most comfortable with. There is simply very much on offer. There are also glamping options here, with safari tents and lodge tents. The choice here is huge and depends on the party offering it. It is advisable to list these providers so that you can find exactly the place that suits you best.
Camping Bijela Uvala is a beautiful campsite where young and old can enjoy themselves. There are several outdoor pools here, one of which is very close to the beach. Of course the little ones have been thought of, in the form of shallow children’s pools with water play equipment. In addition to the pools, there is also a one and a half kilometer wide pebble beach, with very clear water. It is great to snorkel along the rocks because you will find many fish here. Be careful: in addition to rocks, sea urchins live here. Water shoes are therefore not a luxury. By the way, Aquacolors water park is right here in the sea. This park is brand new, but not from the campground. So you will have to pay an entrance fee for this.
There are several restaurants at this campground, including a pizzeria, a takeaway, a snack bar and an ice cream parlor. There is also a sort of canteen, or bar, for small snacks. But above all, go to nearby Poreč or Ravinj, where there are great restaurants offering typical Croatian cuisine.
As for the entertainment, no one will be bored here. In high season there are special programs for children, such as a mini-club that organizes fun games and activities six days a week. These activities are also regular evenings, so the little ones won’t be bored for a moment at this campground. For adults, it’s mostly sports, such as beach volleyball and aqua aerobics. So you meet in a fun way and you also get plenty of exercise. At night, there is often live music, which you can enjoy with a beer or wine. This campground is also fun for teenagers, with the pool and beach. In the evening, a free van runs to the nearest disco, where fat nights are organized every night. And yes, the van also drives back to the campground.
Divided throughout the campsite there are several playgrounds, so for the children there is always something to do nearby. In addition, there are four tennis courts, where you can enjoy a quick game of tennis and a fitness center. Above all, rent a bike to explore the area, or see what water sports you want to learn: there is a huge choice.
Even if you stay in your tent, caravan or cottage, you don’t have to starve. There is a convenient supermarket in the campground, as well as a store for newspapers and souvenirs. Nearby are several large supermarkets, but the store at the campground itself actually has everything you need.
As mentioned, there is an enormous amount to experience and visit in the area. Nice to visit, for example, is the village of Hum. Hum is known as “the smallest city in the world” (according to the Guinness Book of Records), with 12 houses and 30 inhabitants. And even a bell tower and, don’t worry, also a delicious restaurant with great prices. The surroundings of the village is also is beautiful and excellent for a good walk. You will find here, for example, the waterfalls of Kotli.
This campground has its own jetty. Bringing your own boat is allowed.
