Camping La Sirène

Camping La Sirène

In the southernmost tip of France, against the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, lies Camping La Sirène. It is claimed that this campground is among the best in Europe, but what is certain is that there is a huge amount to do. Close to the water, close to the beautiful city of Perpignan, close to the mountains and only a two-hour drive to Barcelona, there is nothing wrong with its location in any case. This five-star campground’s beautiful pool complex is also a breath of fresh air for young and old alike. La Sirène is fully equipped, brimming with activities and is a family campground where children can have their fun. In the evening, visit a musical or concert; they are of a particularly high standard here. All facilities are shared with the slightly quieter Camping L’Hippocampe and both campsites are separated by a road. La Sirène is huge and can be very crowded in high season. Beyond that, this campground is a real picture.

Here you will find plenty of stores, bars and restaurants, so conviviality is abundant when you do a day at the beach. That beach is big and fine, with insane water. The Mediterranean is beautiful almost everywhere and here is certainly no exception. Just a few kilometers away is the city of Perpignan. This city is really worth a visit, with its historic palace, its narrow streets and its many, many quaint stores. Out in nature? The Pyrenees are just around the corner. This mountain range separates France from Spain and offers great hiking, biking and mountain climbing. So for the adventurous traveler, exploring the most beautiful places here is definitely a must. The campground itself organizes excursions, so be sure to inquire about these. One such excursion is to Barcelona, which is just a two-hour drive away.

Accommodations

But this campground is still primarily a vacation village, with a good variety of accommodations. There are plenty of fine cottages, such as the Sirènes, chalets, cottages and all are with different sizes and diversity of luxury. The campground is happy to think along with certain requests. Do you prefer to stay in a car-free environment? A little farther away from the entertainment? This is a good consideration to take into account, as that entertainment lasts until midnight and can be quite loud. So check carefully with the various providers.

Swimming

Camping La Sirène houses an amazing swimming paradise of no less than 10,000 square meters. That includes a large sunbathing area surrounded by palm trees, but that still leaves plenty of water, of course. This water park is set in a tropical setting, with palm trees, rocks, narrow paths and a heavenly lagoon. You will find two indoor pools, one of which is especially for the youngest children. Here they will find water games and small slides. Older children can have fun with a climbing wall and a liana bridge and through three spectacular slides. The really older kids-the parents-are having a great time again with the Hydro-massage beds and the powerful waterfalls. Relaxation at its finest is done in a bubble bath. The pools are also used for numerous activities, such as aqua gym, aquabike, Zumba, diving lessons and kayaking.

Restaurants

The three fine restaurants offer numerous activities in addition to food. Think dinner shows! Sirène Beach has deliciously sophisticated food and is right next to the water park. You’ll find sand on the floor, which immediately gives it that fine tropical vibe. At La Bambou you eat Thai food, and it is next to the modest water park at L’Hippocampe. However, the pub really is the place to be, with live concerts, theme nights and DJs. Recently the campground has an entirely new complex, where you can get snacks and takeaway. Of course, you will find many more restaurants in the neighboring villages, where prices are also a bit lower.
