Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is a beautiful 5-star family campsite in the south of France. The campground is within walking distance of the village of Marseillan-Plage and right on the beautiful sandy beach of the Mediterranean. There is also a wonderful water park and all kinds of activities are organized by the enthusiastic animation team. The campground is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and offers you a carefree vacation.
Because Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is not very big (less than 500 spots), it is an ideal campsite to visit with your family. At the campsite itself there is a restaurant, a nice bar and a nice terrace where, depending on where you sit, you have a great view of the sea. Thanks to the supermarket, caterer and bakery/snack bar, you don’t have to leave the campsite. In addition, you can easily walk into the village with its many restaurants, if you feel like it.
Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is part of the Les Méditerranées group, which includes two other campsites, Beach Garden and Charlemagne. These are all within walking distance of each other, and as a Nouvelle Floride guest you also have access to Camping Beach Garden and Charlemagne. So you actually have three water parks to choose from including all the other facilities the campsites offer!
What you do need to know about Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is that it is made up of two parts. The part with the water park, stores, restaurants, entertainment, pitches and rental accommodations of the campsite itself and the part where the rental accommodations of the providers, such as Homair and Eurocamp, are located. The two parts are separated by a road, where almost no cars drive because it leads to the beach. Through a code you open the gate to both parts of the campground.
The main road does get quite busy, especially near Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride campsite. All traffic to this campground and to Camping Beach Garden goes via this road, as do pedestrians and bicyclists. Campgrounds and rental units near the road may experience inconvenience from this.
Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is located in the village of Marseillan-Plage, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This part of France is known for its beautiful, sunny weather. From the campsite you have direct access to a beautiful sandy beach and the clear blue Mediterranean Sea.
Marseillan-Plage is a bustling tourist village with numerous restaurants and bars. Shopping enthusiasts are also in for a treat, as there are plenty of stores for shopping and souvenirs. Although the village may not be called very charming, it is well worth a bite to eat. For older youth, there are several nightclubs in the village.
Languedoc-Roussillon stretches from the Rhône to the Spanish border and is known as the largest wine region in France. Marseillan-Plage falls under the Hérault department, where you can engage in numerous activities, including exploring nature reserves, picturesque towns and villages, and the UNESCO World Heritage Canal du Midi, a canal 240 kilometers long.
Visit the seaside resort of Cap d’Agde, known for its marina, vast sandy beaches and water sports facilities. During the summer months of July and August, there is even a huge amusement park with roller coasters, a Ferris wheel and more. Or discovers Montpellier. This lively student town ideal for a city break reveals its historical treasures, such as Montpellier Cathedral, the ancient alleys of the old town (La vieille Ville) and the remains of the old city wall. A true college town with one of the world’s oldest universities, it also offers numerous cozy terraces and entertainment venues.
Furthermore, Nîmes, Carcassonne and Sète are also nice to visit. The town of Béziers is not far from the campground. In this old medieval village is the Saint Nazaire Cathedral, a beautiful Gothic cathedral with beautiful views of the surroundings. The city park in Béziers is also recommended for a nice walk, fun playgrounds and a waterfall. Thanks to the many restaurants and cafes, there are plenty of places to relax for a while. Moreover, there are many caves to visit, of which the Cave of Clamouse is one of the most beautiful.
Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride fortunately has plenty of camping spots in addition to its beautiful rental accommodations. Although more and more rental units are being installed, so this may change each year. The pitches are spread throughout the campsite, but because the campsite is not that big you are still far from the water park or the beach. The camping sites to choose from are as follows:
There are three sanitary buildings scattered throughout the campground. There is still a difference between the different sanitary blocks, with one already modernized (sanitary block 1) and looking beautiful (sanitary block 1) and the other a bit older, but very clean. We expect that, in time, all sanitary buildings will be modernized so that they all have the same look and luxury. They are all kept nice and clean and it does look neat. A single sanitary building also has children’s sanitary facilities. And building three you will find sanitary facilities for the disabled, as well as washing machines and tumble dryers. If you bring your dog to Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride, a separate dog shower is also available. And at the beach there are also showers so you can rinse off if you’ve been at the beach. Good thing.
Looking for modern rental accommodation? Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride has just what you need! The entire campground is beautifully landscaped, and so are the rental accommodations. As mentioned earlier, the providers’ rental accommodations are located on a different part of the campground. However, half of the accommodations belong to the campground itself and are located on the central part. These are truly beautiful accommodations and because of their location in the campground, they are our favorite. These accommodations are also available for rent through Allcamps, LuxCamp and VacanceSelect. Good to know: about half of the accommodations at this dog-friendly campground allow you to bring your faithful four-legged friend. As soon as you arrive, you can already see a little of the beautiful water park at Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride: it invites you to take a dip. There are four different pools and then an additional pool especially for adults. A separate entrance, where the restrooms are also located, leads you to the water park. It is full of sunbeds, but there is not always a bed available for every camping guest. Possibly this has to do with the fact that guests of the other campsites, Charlemagne and Beach Garden, can also use this water park.
The water park is beautifully landscaped with palm trees, tropical plants and stone rocks. As a result, there is just less overview than, for example, in Beach Garden’s water park. In the heated main pool, which is 33 meters long, you can enjoy swimming and playing. This is also where the entertainment takes place, such as aqua gym and where the large, circular, slide opens into. For the two smaller, but just as fun, slides, there is a separate pool.
Then you have the relaxation pool with water jets, whirlpools and children’s pool. And the separate paddling pool is a treat for kids with its own slide, water spouts and tipping buckets.
A little hidden behind the wading pool is a pool bar and salad bar. You gain access through a gate with child protection, so children cannot go there alone. Behind the bar is the final pool, Le Lagon, including a relaxing sunbathing area that only adults can use. Here it is a little quieter and there are no small children present.
At Le Floride restaurant at Nouvelle Floride campground, you can eat out in a cozy setting. There is something tasty for everyone on the menu. Think Plateaus Fruits de Mer (all kinds of fresh fish specialties), salads, pates, mussels as well as pizzas and burgers. For the children, there are two children’s dishes to choose from. You can also go for the Menu Floride, a 3-course dinner for €29.
At the caterer get the tastiest tapas, pâtés, fresh fish, roast chicken and more. You’ll find the caterer next to the restaurant. If you feel like a pizza, panini or hamburger, go to the snack bar/bakery. You’ll find this one across from the restaurant. Here you also buy tasty sweets.
Near the stage is a large bar with a very large terrace, where you can have a relaxing drink. If you want, you can even have a nice sea view. They have several specialty beers on tap and the cocktails and smoothies are delicious. The ice cream parlor is also at the bar. Inside is a pool table and a foosball table.
At Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride campsite, there is a large and enthusiastic animation team that aims to make your vacation even more fun. Whether in sports or with the cool evening shows, you won’t be bored here.
There is a mini-club for children, consisting of two groups: for 5-8 year olds and 9-11 year olds. Fun activities are organized every weekday based on different themes, such as pirates. A week of games and competitions are done with that theme. And on Wednesdays, your child(ren) can play all day at the Mini Club; they will be entertained between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., lunch included! On Thursday nights there is a children’s show on the big stage, for which they rehearse during the day on Thursdays. Of course, there is also a mini disco in the evening. What our kids also thought was cool was that they could go on a banana boat (for a fee). The clubhouse has a large garden with playground and is located on the side of the campground.
For older children, there is a separate group called Club Ados. They also have their own space to meet peers to “hang out. You will find this space next to the stage. Activities organized for the group of teenagers include board games and sports tournaments.
There are also many organized activities for adults. You can participate every morning in various sports activities such as pilates, yoga, circuit training, aqua gym and aqua bike (in the pool of camping Charlemagne). There are also various dance classes and sports tournaments such as basketball and water polo. After the mini disco at 9 p.m., there is a very cool evening show every night. These include concerts, theater and dance shows and musicals. Expect a fun evening of very high quality!
As mentioned above, all kinds of sports activities are organized by the animation team. But in addition to the organized tournaments, you can of course play sports on your own. At the very back of the campground, near the beach, are the sports fields. There is a multi-sport court and bocce courts. You can also play table tennis there and the children can play in the playground. If you like outdoor fitness, you can do that here, too.
Near the stage, next to the terrace, is a small game hall where you can play fun games. There are air field hockey tables, pinball machines, slot machines and racing simulators.
There is a bike rental if you want to explore the area by bike. They can tell you more about scenic biking routes, but they also know the most popular hiking trails.
There are several stores in the center of campsite Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride. First, of course, you have a supermarket there. There is also a Summer Market with all kinds of items you need during your vacation and at the beach, such as inflatable tires and toys, beach chairs and beach bags. But also swimwear and souvenirs.
At the Haribo store you can buy Haribo’s most delicious candy, already pre-packaged or you can fill a bag of candy yourself. And at the bakery you can buy fresh bread as well as various sweets. For takeout pizza and burgers, you can also go here.
If you prefer more choice, you will find a SPAR supermarket in front of the entrance to Charlemagne campground. This is right next to the campground. Furthermore, about a 10-minute drive from the campground there are several very large supermarkets, such as the LIDL and the Intermarché Hyper. These stores are in an area where you will find many other stores such as the Decathlon and Action.
Camping Les Méditerranées Nouvelle Floride is a dog-friendly campsite. In many rental accommodations you are allowed to bring your dog, just like in the camping areas. There is even a special dog shower available. Also, your dog can come with you to the restaurant.
Right outside the campground is an ATM, next to the entrance.
The Les Méditerranées group includes three campsites, namely Nouvelle Floride, Beach Garden and Charlemagne. They are within walking distance of each other and with your wristband you have free access to all three campsites. By booking one campsite, you get three campsites. Camping Nouvelle Floride is not too big and has a nice water park with fun slides for all ages, a chill lounge and a hot tub. However, this water park is less orderly. Here you will also find many rental accommodations and camping spots. Not all the plumbing is comparable to Beach Garden, but it is possible that it will be updated in the future. It is, of course, clean. And the providers’ rental properties are on the other side of the road. Through entrance gates you can get to the accommodations or to the campground. This makes you feel less part of the campsite. The large terrace and stage are right on the beach, giving you beautiful views of the sea. Camping Les Méditerranées Beach Garden is the largest of the three campsites. However, in the central part, everything is compact and close together. This campground has direct access to the beach (by code lock) and has a clear swimming pool. Camping Charlemagne is about the same size as Nouvelle Floride, but it does have fewer pitches. Again, there are many different rental properties and the rental properties of the different providers are on the other side of the road. The water park is a bit smaller, but then again you are close to the large SPAR supermarket and the lively center of Marseillan-Plage.
