Camping Cypsela is a beautiful four-star campsite and belongs to the Sandaya camping chain. Because of this, you are actually already guaranteed a luxurious and spacious campsite. It is a large campsite in terms of number of pitches, but it is also very grand. There is plenty of space and it doesn’t feel like a big campground. The grounds are very well cared for and landscaped. The various rental accommodations are playfully placed and are very nicely landscaped in terms of trees and plants. The luxury radiates from it and it creates a wonderful vacation mode. The large pool complex at the front of the campground is absolutely beautiful and you will have hours of water fun here.
Located on the Costa Brava, a free shuttle bus will drop you off on one of the Costa Brava’s longest sandy beaches within minutes. In addition, there is more than enough to do in the area. In terms of different rental accommodations, you can also indulge yourself here. There is more than enough to choose from a variety of accommodations: from safari tents to Finnish (luxury) log cabins and very luxurious mobile homes.
Camping Cypsala is located in the medieval town of Pals on the Costa Brava. This region is known for its beautiful beaches, amazing Mediterranean Sea, beautiful landscapes and idyllic villages. The village itself is built on top of a hill around a fort. The medieval center is excellently preserved.
A visit to the picturesque village of Peratallada is definitely recommended. Take a stroll through the ancient village and then enjoy a delicious lunch or fresh ice cream. It is not very large which makes it easy for even younger children to walk around here.
If you are a fan of Dalí, then of course Dalí’s hometown and theater-museum are not to be missed. The museum is in the village of Figuera and has a beautiful old town center with cozy squares and tasty restaurants. In addition, you will find one of the largest fortresses in Europe, Castillo de San Fernando.
The small, but beautiful, village of Begur is also recommended. This village is built on a 200-meter-high hill. With a picturesque historic center, grand colonial houses and a medieval castle is a village not to be missed. There are plenty of restaurants and bars for a stopover.
At 45 kilometers is the beautiful city of Girona. This city is surrounded by medieval walls, which you can walk over and get a great view of the city. There is also a beautiful cathedral and the Eiffel Bridge, built by Gustav Eiffel.
Of course, if you don’t mind driving a little further, a visit to metropolis Barcelona is also a must! Just under 140 kilometers away, you can visit the FC Barcelona soccer stadium, see how far construction is on the Sagrada Familia and stroll along Las Ramblas. Or visit one of the other many attractions of this beautiful city. Through the campground you can book a one-day excursion to this beautiful city. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your camping spot by a campground staff member, what a luxury! The pitches are very spacious. It is a combo of sand and pebbles and the sites are nicely set among the trees. One spot does have more shade than the other.
The campground offers four different camping sites. We discuss them below:
– 2 shells: this spot is the smallest camping spot of 80m2. You only have an electricity connection here.
– 3 shells: At 90m2, this pitch is slightly more spacious. In addition to electricity, you also have your own water connection.
– 4 shells: This is the largest camping spot and is a whopping 120m2. Again, you have your own water and electricity connection.
– Premium: if you want luxury camping, then this camping spot is for you. With 100m2 have a large spot with of course a water and electricity connection. But in addition, you also have your own sanitary block, there is garden furniture and Wifi is included.

They are all very spacious sites with more than enough room for your awning. We ourselves were in the 3-star camping spot and it was really big. You can’t just walk across your back neighbor’s place because the rows are separated by a hedge-covered fence. The streets are straightforward, nice and clear. You park your car on your own pitch.
The sanitary block is very large. A total of four of these sanitary blocks are present. The toilets are incredibly spacious and there are also many sinks and washrooms. The showers are spacious in themselves, but there is a kind of shower tray in them but the water did not come all the way there. It is all very clean, but it is not very modern. There is, however, a convenient, and large, laundry room for the youngest children. These bathtubs are cheerfully painted and with a sink and dressing area, it is very nice to wash your child here. There are also sanitary facilities for people with limited mobility. For this, however, you need a key, which you can pick up upon arrival.
There is also an area laundry room with washing machines and dryers. If you want to run a wash of up to 8 kilograms, it costs 8 euros (including detergent). The dryers cost 5 euros for 5 kilos and 8 euros for 12 kilos. You buy tokens for the washing and drying machines at the reception desk. There are also ironing boards and irons for free use. The room has seating areas if you want to wait for your laundry. The laundry room can be found quite at the front of the campsite.
The dishwashing areas are spacious and there are plenty of sinks. It is an indoor space, though, and therefore it can feel a bit stuffy at times. But there is hot water and plenty of room for your dishes.
At this large, wooded campground, of course, you will also find many accommodations. Think cottages, bungalows and lodges. These places are mostly in so-called pedestrian neighborhoods; then it is car-free and super quiet. Of course, that depends a bit on where you want to be. There are also cottages near the stores or near the pool. It will often be a bit busier there. In short, in terms of accommodations, there is something for everyone. From ultimate privacy to central to the hustle and bustle.
Compared to other popular campsites, there is no proliferation of different accommodation providers here. Only KelAir has mobile homes at this campground. All other accommodations are Sandaya’s own. You can book Sandaya accommodations on several websites, though. We are happy to give you an overview of accommodations:

Mecure Riviera – A 28m2 mobile home, with 2 bedrooms, suitable for 6 people. One bedroom is equipped with a double bed, the other bedroom has 2 single beds and an oversize bed. In addition, there is a sofa bed in the living room.
Cordelia – A 32m2 mobile home with 3 bedrooms, suitable for 7 people. One bedroom has a double bed, the other two rooms have single beds. For the 7th person is a sleeping place on the sofa bed in the living room.
Holiday Home Plus – A 34m2 mobile home with 3 bedrooms, suitable for 7 people. One bedroom has a double bed, the other two rooms have single beds. For the 7th person is a sleeping place on the sofa bed in the living room.

A Family Holidays luxury bungalow tent, standard with 5 beds, but a sixth bed can be placed on request. The tent can be divided into 3 sleeping cabins. The location is central in the left part of Field D (next to the field with the Lodge tents).

Sandaya has a huge selection of mobile homes, safari tents and bungalows. These accommodations can be booked on several websites, we would like to give you an overview to help you choose. With Sandaya accommodations, it is important to pay attention to the number of stars (they call it shells) of the accommodations. You have accommodations from 2 to 4 shells and above that you have “Premium. At higher levels, the accommodations are more modern and the furnishings are more complete / luxurious. In addition, there are certain services included that must be reordered at lower levels. It is good to know that accommodations of 4 shells or more include bedding and a towel set. If you plan to rent this anyway, sometimes it can even be cheaper to rent an accommodation of 4 shells instead of 3 shells. Are you also planning to order wifi and final cleaning? Then compare the prices of the “premium” accommodations, because with the Premium accommodations it is included!

There are 27 safari tents available which are centrally located in the campground. Recognizable on the map by the “Lodge” field with white and red spaces.
The red pitches are safari tents suitable for 7 people, these tents are 45m2 in size and have 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with toilet and shower.
The white pitches are safari tents suitable for 5 people, these tents are 35m2 and have 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with toilet and shower.
When we looked at the prices, we noticed that the 7 person version was not much more expensive than the 5 person version. You do get an extra 10m2 for that. For example, there is room for both a dining and sitting area. The 5 person version has only a dining area inside.

These cute Finnish wooden bungalows are located fairly centrally next to the field with the safari tents. Recognizable on the map with “Finlandia. The bungalows are quite spacious and playful. Finlandia bungalows can accommodate 5 people have a living room with kitchen and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, the other bedroom has 2 single beds plus a bunk bed.

If you prefer a cottage but still want to enjoy the atmosphere of a campsite, these are the perfect accommodations for you. The location of the bungalows is very convenient, right next to the swimming pool, restaurants, stores, etc. There are a total of 21 Med bungalows, of which 5 are of type ‘Suite Med’. Both types have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and can accommodate 4 people. The difference is only in the area, the Suite Med is 54m2 and the “normal” Med is 33m2. So with the Suite Med, you have more living space, giving you a separate sitting area and dining area. At the Med, the living and dining room is a combined space. The 5 Suit Med bungalows are in a street next to each other, they are a bit more separated from each other which gives you more privacy. The normal Meds are more like a field. You may have less privacy, but if you like to interact with others, this bungalow is better suited. If you have children, they can also easily connect with other children on the field.

The 2-star cottages (shells) are located in the “Cypsela” section, the brown fields on the map (numbers 1 to 17). The location is nice; not far from the pool and other facilities. These mobile homes are quite small, but do have two bedrooms for a total of 4 people. The living room is not large, but in nice weather you can of course enjoy the beautiful wooden veranda which is partly covered.

The cottage mobile homes of 3 stars (shells) are located on the map in the section “Sandaya”, which is divided into two sections. One section is among the green fields of “camping spots. These spots are a little closer to all the facilities. The other section is more in a remote corner of the campground (on the far right of the map). It’s nice and quiet here, but it can feel like you’re a bit remote. These 3-star cottages are available in a version with 2 bedrooms for 4 people, or 3 bedrooms for 6 people. In both versions, the sofa in the living room can be used as a sofa bed for an extra person.

In terms of area and layout, these ‘Cottage Pinède’ mobile homes are similar to the above 3-star ‘Cottage’ mobile homes. It seems these ‘Pinede’ version are newer. The price is almost the same. The advantage of the Pinede is that its location is better (closer to all facilities). On the Map you can find these mobile homes on the field “Pineda”. The white spots (1 to 8 are the 4-person, 9 to 15 the 6-person).

These modern 4-star (shell) cottage mobile homes are available in 4-bed and 6-bed versions. They are located on the map seen in the “Central” area with numbers 1 through 84, with the 4-person version being the yellow spots, and the 6-person version being the orange spots. In the field where the 6-person mobile homes are located they are angled toward the street, giving you a little more privacy. In the field where there are only the 4-person versions, the mobile homes are next to each other in a “street”.
Although the 6-person version is larger in area than the 4-person version (3m2 extra), due to the extra bedroom required, the living/dining room is smaller than the 4-person version.

These mobile homes are new for the 2023 season. They are located on a new field, on the map to the left of the large parking lot. The field is car-free, therefore fine for children to play nicely. Like all other mobile homes, Cottage Bahia is available in 4- or 6-bed versions. The Bahia version is just slightly larger than the above “regular” 4-star Cottage, while the prices are the same.

The “district” of Vignes is in on the map on the far right. The neighborhood still has a small playground, which is nice for small children. The mobile homes are arranged fairly freely and are fenced with a hedge. The mobile homes have a large area, which is almost the same in the 4-person and 6-person versions. Whereas in other 6-person mobile homes the living room often has to sacrifice space for the extra bedroom, here they have chosen to reduce the size of the bedrooms and bathrooms to still create a large living room for a 6-person stay.

The colorful “Cottage Colors” mobile homes are located in the “Colors” neighborhood. The location is ideal, close to stores, restaurants and the swimming pool. The mobile homes are spacious and the gardens are framed with plantings. The 6-person version of the Cottage Colors is similar in layout to the 6-person Cottage Vignes. The 4-person variants do differ in layout. In which the living room of the Cottage is much smaller than that Cottage Vignes. The prices of the Vignes and Color are the same.

Cottage Keywest mobile homes are the most luxurious mobile homes in the campground. With 42m2 area, these are very spacious. The stacavarans are available in a 4-person and 6-person variant, with the area and layout of both variants being exactly the same. The difference is that in the 6-person variant, a spacious bedroom is split into two bedrooms, one of which has a bunk bed. With this clever solution, no space is lost in the living room and you can still stay with 6 people. So if you choose the 4-person version, you will have an extra-large 2-person room. Both variants have 2 separate bathrooms with showers. The location of the mobile homes in section “Key West” can be called perfect. Right next to the pool and close to the other facilities. The mobile home field is beautifully landscaped with beautiful plantings, you really experience a luxurious feeling with these mobile homes. With a huge wooden terrace, part of which is covered by a pergola, you feel like royalty.

On vacation with a large group? Then the new Cottage Friends mobile homes are perfect for you. You actually rent two separate mobile homes placed at right angles. So also ideal for 2 families, so you can vacation together, but still have your own mobile home. In the middle of the mobile homes is a beautiful wooden terrace where you can enjoy the sun with the whole group. There is a nice lounge sofa and the barbecue is already waiting for you. The mobile homes are similar to the Cottage type (****), but the layout has been modified to better suit use with a large group. The location is on the new field to the left of the large parking lot. The field is car-free, and is conveniently located to all facilities.

The pool at Camping Cypsela is great! There are several pools available and that’s a good thing, because it can get pretty crowded. The kids are sure to have fun with the two diving boards, which allow you to jump or dive into an extra deep (separate) pool. The separate slides will also be a favorite with your kids. It is nice and safe that the slides do not exit into a pool. And if you go extra hard, you might just splash passersby wet! Please note that the slides are closed between 1:30 and 3 p.m. You will also find a large and deep swimming pool, where water sports are also held, e.g. water volleyball. Next to this larger pool you will also find a separate children’s pool.
On the other side you will find a lovely children’s pool with a pirate boat where your little ones can have fun in shallow water. The pirate boat has several water spouts, a water barrel and two different slides. For parents, this is also a great spot because while your child is playing, you are relaxing in the shallow water with a good view of your child. A win-win situation.
The children’s pool does connect via a narrow entrance to another pool which starts out very shallow and gets deeper and deeper. This pool has a number of hot tubs that you can swim in in no time. Further down this pool is a circular pool with a water chute for even more water fun.
Around the pools you have sunbeds, but there are certainly not enough of them for the entire campground. There is also a large sunbathing area where you can take your towel. However, there is not much shade, which is unfortunate. The spots under the few trees are quickly occupied and the spots against the outer wall are also favorites for the little shade you get there. This wall separates the campsite from the quite busy (access) road. Yet you don’t suffer much from this.
If you prefer to go to the beautiful long sandy beach of Pals, you can use the free beach shuttle. In high season, this bus runs every half hour, between 10 am and 7 pm. At 8 p.m., the last bus leaves. Please note that between 1 and 3 p.m., the bus driver has a break. The bus stop can be found across from the supermarket.
There are several places at Camping Cypsela where you can eat or buy some food. The large restaurant, Les Moreres, offers lunch and dinner. It has Mediterranean cuisine, but you can also order pizza. The restaurant looks cozy; there is a large bar and the chairs all have cushions. You sit nicely sheltered, in part by the many umbrellas.
Next to the pool you will find snack bar Les Palmeres, where you can have tasty drinks and cocktails. You can also order snacks, such as sandwiches, tapas and nachos. And by the pool itself is a pool bar for tasty (scoop) ice creams, drinks and snacks. What is convenient with this campground is that you can arrange full or half board. With half board you have a choice of breakfast and dinner, with full board you get breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. This can be booked by the day.
There is also a take-away; this is a separate issue counter where you can order pizzas, pastas, Spanish dishes, as well as fries, frikandells and croquettes and eat them at your own (rental) accommodation. We did not find it very expensive there: from 7 euros you can order a hamburger and a paella you have from 13 euros per person.
At the bowling alley, which can be found near the supermarket, you also have a cozy pub. Live music can be heard here from time to time.
There is a great animation team at the campground. The kids club is for the youngest children aged 5 to 7. The junior club is for children ages 8 to 12. A weekly entertainment program is available for these two groups. These include various sports, face painting, a superhero day, circus and water polo for children.
Teens up to 17 years old entertain themselves with various sports tournaments such as water basketball, water polo, rugby, volleyball or a bowling tournament.
Parents can also participate in the various sports tournaments, but yoga classes are also offered as well as zumba and aqua gym. If you have always wanted to learn to dance salsa, you can do so at this campground!
Every evening at 9 p.m. there is a mini-disco and then, at 10 p.m., there is a show on stage. There are many different shows, think an animation show, flamenco, circus and a DJ performance.
Next to the pool is a playground with an air trampoline and a zipline. At the supermarket, however, you have a more fun and large playground. There are also some basketball hoops available. Premium Vignes accommodations also include a playground. Because it is a large campground, whether they can walk themselves to the playground depends on your child’s age.
As mentioned earlier, various sports tournaments are organized. But if you feel like playing soccer, basketball, tennis or ping-pong by yourself, you can do all that too at Camping Cypsela. At the back of the campground you will find the large multi-sports field. But you can also play padel (for a fee) and bocce courts are also available. At the very front of the campsite you will find a mini golf course (€3 p/p) and next to the pool you will find more ping-pong tables.
What is very special is that there is a bowling alley at the campground. There are five jobs where you can showcase your talents. In the same building there is a recreation room with billiards and table football. And, of course, the pub for a nice cold drink. Here you will also find the gym with various fitness equipment. If you want to take advantage of this, you must be at least 16 years old.
If you want to take a scenic bike tour, you can rent bikes at the bike rental. You will find these in front of the supermarket.
While on vacation at Camping Cypsela, you can also experience your scuba diving baptism! Every Tuesday, the pool hosts a scuba diving event. The next day you will literally take a dip in the Mediterranean Sea.
At 500 meters from the campsite you will find tree climbing park Costa Brava Parc Aventua Pals. Among the trees you will go on an adventure along more than 90 activities: 500 meters of zip lines, footbridges, lianas, tunnels, Tarzan jumps and much more. There are 7 different circuits, each with a different level of difficulty. Adventure guaranteed! You can buy tickets at the front desk.
At the large supermarket at Camping Cypsela, you’ll find everything you need. There really is a very wide range of products. You can also find camping basics and newspapers & magazines. There is also a liquor store located in this supermarket where you can find many kinds of spirits, as well as a very extensive wine assortment. Including special, and pricey, wines. Several supermarkets are also located in the area.
At the supermarket you will also find a separate bakery. This is the place to be for delicious croissants, chocolate rolls or donuts. And, of course, for fresh (baguette) bread. But also for fresh orange juice: you buy a glass bottle and you can have it refilled daily for a flat fee.
A hair salon and beauty salon are located next to the supermarket. If you feel like a vacation makeover then this is the place to go! But also for a relaxing massage or manicure treatment.
The small boutique, across from the pool, offers clothing and footwear. The boutique is located next to the medical center.
If you love local markets, then Camping Cypsela is also the place to be. Because there is a market in the immediate area every day of the week.
Upon arrival you will receive a comprehensive information folder. The information is about the campsite itself, but also provides tips for outings in the area. It is also available in Dutch!
In addition, there is a special app for this campground through the Sendaya app. All practical information about the campsite can be found here, as well as a map and the entertainment schedule.
A car wash is available at this campground. You buy a €2 coin at the reception desk.
For medical help, you can visit the medical center. Nurses are available and physician assistance can be sought if needed (for a fee). The medical center is located opposite the entrance to the pool.
Charging points for electric cars are available in front of the reception (for a fee).
