Camping Enmar

Camping Enmar

At 4-star Camping Enmar you will enjoy the Spanish sun, the beach, many palm trees and a lovely pool. Camping Enmar is located in Pineda de Mar, a small coastal town on the Costa Brava just 50 kilometers from Barcelona. Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Malgrat de Mar are also nearby. The beautifully landscaped campground features lots of palm trees, mulberry trees, bushes and banana plants.

The campground is a real family campground, so there are many families with children. This is due in part to the nice pool and the small scale of the campground: your children can go out on their own to explore the campground and play with new friends. The pool has a very nice toddler pool with a climbing apparatus & slides, a large pool that gets deeper and deeper where you can make your best bombs and another separate and shallow baby pool. The slightly older children will love the two slides the most, and there is also a separate pool for swimming laps. So plenty of water fun and we haven’t even mentioned the beach just 100 meters away. That is really an asset of this campground that you can walk right to the beautiful beach.

In high season, the enthusiastic entertainment team also organizes fun activities for the whole family every day and several times a week the children can let loose during the mini-disco. In the evening, you can enjoy live music in the restaurant almost every night.

Thanks to the ample number of pitches, you can still just go here with your own camping equipment, but the number of rental accommodations also continues to increase. There is a nice selection of different rental properties so there is always something for you.

Location and environment

Camping Enmar is located in Pineda de Mar, a small village under the smoke of Barcelona. Originally an old fishing village, it is now more well-known among tourists, but is not nearly as touristy (nor as large) as, say, Malgrat de Mar. But you will find a train station so you can easily make trips to Barcelona, Girona, Blanes or Malgrat de Mar, for example. Many restaurants can be found and a fun fair takes place in August.

The beach is the main attraction of the village and also of the campground, as you walk in just 100 meters to it. It is not a very wide beach but you will enjoy the clear & warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Being so close to Barcelona, it is actually a must to visit this famous metropolis. As mentioned, it is possible to visit the city by train (the station is about a 7-minute walk from the campground) so you don’t have to worry about parking and special vignettes for the city. Visit the Sagrada Familia – the church that is never finished -, FC Barcelona’s soccer stadium, Park Güell and stroll down the Ramblas, Barcelona’s famous street. There is plenty to do for a top day out!

Girona is also a beautiful, medieval, city to visit and is mainly known for impressive cathedral and the old city walls you can walk on. Thanks to the Games of Thrones series, Girona gained more fame where an important movie location was. You can now even take themed walking tours that take you past various Games of Thrones movie locations.

If you like strolling along a boulevard, then a visit to Malgrat de Mar is a good idea. This village is 7 km away and is not very special, but it does have a long promenade full of (souvenir) stores, cafes and restaurants. In addition, you will find a very wide beach. This also applies to seaside resort Blanes, which is a short distance away.

In addition, Montserrat and Montnegre Parc are also tips to visit. Montserrat is known for its monastery atop a mountain and Montnegre Parc is wonderful place for walks, hikes and bike rides. The village of Breda is a 30-minute drive away and is known for its ceramics and brick-making industry. The famous brown tapas dishes and plates are made here. Terraforta is the best-known store with a large assortment.

For a cool day out, head to Marineland Catalunya in Palafolls. Marineland is a water park and dolphinarium all in one. There is a dolphin show to visit, as well as a show with sea lions and seals. In the water park you will find the coolest slides to slide from.

Pitches

The proportion of camping sites is still quite large at Camping Enmar, although every year some are swallowed up for new rental accommodation. Pitches are scattered throughout the campground and rental accommodations are situated around them. This does make it cozier. The pitches are all between 70 and 85m2 and have a light gravel surface. They have electricity and you share a tap with your neighbor. The sites are super flat and therefore very suitable for RVs. Not for nothing did it win the ACSI Award in 2023 for best motorhome site in Spain. Palm trees are used to separate the camping areas. Don’t expect much shade in your camping spot, however, because there really isn’t any. Therefore, an (additional) shade cloth is highly recommended for the hot summer days.

There is a toilet block for the entire campground fairly at the front of the campground. These are also the restrooms for pool and restaurant guests. There are plenty of restrooms available as well as showers; you never have to wait for anything to be available. However, there is a big difference between the men’s and women’s building. In fact, in the men’s section, some showers have been renovated and are significantly more luxurious than the older showers in the ladies’ section. The sanitary building is very clean and is also cleaned throughout the day, but it is somewhat outdated. This mainly applies to the showers which are quite small and not very modern. However, it does have a bench and two hanging hooks. Hopefully the women’s showers will also be modernized in the future.

There are more than enough dishwashing spots to be found at the campground. At the sanitary building there are several washing-up areas on two sides of the building. There are also a number of individual spots scattered throughout the campground with a few sinks where you can do your dishes.
You can also wash your clothes at Camping Enmar during your vacation; there are a number of washing machines and dryers at the campground. You buy a token for 5 euros in the supermarket, this includes detergent.

Accommodations

Traditionally, Camping Enmar is a campground where you go with your own camping equipment. However, this is slowly changing in recent years and the range of rental accommodations is expanding. Right now there is a nice mix of camping sites and rental accommodations. Below are further descriptions of the various rental accommodations, such as mobile homes and bungalows at Camping Enmar.

You book this mobile home through Allcamps (Mobilhome) and ANWB (Bungalow). (This mobile home is offered under different names through our providers: the name is in parentheses after the link for each provider).

There are two types, namely Premium Exclusive and Premium Exclusive A/C. Although both are air-conditioned, the Premium Exclusive A/C has the Exclusive Pack. This means that final cleaning, bed linen and wifi for 1 device are included. Also, this one is slightly larger (35m2) and you are allowed to bring your dog here. The spacious wooden porch is covered and features a relaxation/lounge sofa and, of course, a separate sitting area. Then you have mobile home Comfort XL – the mobile home has two bedrooms and in the kitchen there is a sofa bed. This makes this mobile home suitable for 4 adults and 2 children. You have 29m2 of area and the terrace is partially covered. Mobile home Comfort is the most basic mobile home of this series. The mobile home is 26m2 and can accommodate 6 people (4 adults and 2 children). There are two bedrooms, a sofa bed and a semi-covered wooden porch. You book these mobile homes through Allcamps / Homair.

Moda 6 – At 30m2, this is the largest mobile home offered by Vacanceselect at this campsite. There are 3 bedrooms to accommodate up to 6 people. The not too large wooden porch is partially covered. A plus for this mobile home is that final cleaning is included in the booking fee. You book this mobile home with Vacanceselect / Allcamps / LuxCamp.

Cosy – this is the smallest mobile home in the campsite, it is 18m2 in size. 4 people can stay overnight in the 2 bedrooms provided. The wooden veranda is semi-covered, but it is slightly larger than that of the other Cosy mobile home. You book this mobile home with Vacanceselect / Allcamps / LuxCamp.

Garden Bungalow Enmar – this is a nice and modern mobile home of the campsite itself. This mobile home has a slightly larger, covered, veranda of 8m2. The caravans themselves are 24m2 and can accommodate up to 5/6 people. There are two bedrooms, a large refrigerator including freezer, a bbq and a TV with international channel. This mobile home only includes towels that are changed weekly. In addition, you can request a free baby kit (crib and baby chair). These bungalows are near the entrance and pool.

Villa Enmar – if you want a luxury vacation in a very modern and spacious mobile home, then the Villa ENMAR is a good choice. This mobile home was not in use until 2023. The mobile home totals almost 45m2 of which 15m2 is a covered, wooden veranda. It fits 4 people in 2 bedrooms. There is a large refrigerator including freezer and a TV with international channel. No need to bring towels, the campground takes care of that (including weekly replacement). Again, you can request a free baby kit with a crib and baby chair.

Swimming

There is plenty of place to cool off in the water at Camping Enmar. There are several pools so there is a nice spot for everyone and every moment. In total, there are four different pools to choose from. And that’s not counting the pool of slides. The two slides exit into a separate pool and there is always a lifeguard on hand to make sure no collisions are caused. The fun part of one of the slides is that there are competitions by everyone, young and old, to see who can make the biggest splash. And the big giraffe looks on cozily.

Camping Enmar’s large pool slowly deepens making it nice for all ages. At the front you can walk quietly into the water, while on the other side of this pool you can make bombs and may dive. This pool is adjacent to a baby pool, where little ones can enjoy the cool water. The elephant squirts water through its trunk into the water, and if they dare, your little one can sit on the crocodile’s back. There is also a separate paddling pool with a fun play area with two slides. For sure your kids will play wonderfully here. If you are more into active swimming and like to swim laps, you can do so in the separate 25-meter pool. Although this is used more during the day to hang out and take a quick splash. In the morning it does get used as a swimming pool to swim laps. The pool is beautifully landscaped with large palm trees providing shade. There are lots of sunbeds available for almost all camping guests. Unfortunately, there are the so-called “towel-layers” here.

The pools are open almost all day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the evening. The slides open around 10:30 a.m. until about 6:30 p.m.

If you love the beach, Camping Enmar is also a good choice. Although the campground is not directly adjacent to the beach, you can get there within a few minutes’ walk; it’s about a 100-meter walk to the beach. As soon as you walk under the tracks you see the beautiful, clear blue sea in front of you. The beach is a very fine pebble beach and it can also get very hot in the summer. We therefore recommend bringing water shoes, also because there are many (larger) pebbles in the sea. If you want to walk a little further, you will end up at the beach where there are some more activities. For example, there is a water inflatable park where you can have fun and there are opportunities to practice various water sports. The beach is not very wide, but there is room enough for everyone.

Restaurants

Camping Enmar has a modern restaurant with a nice view of the pool. You can choose to eat on the terrace, or head to the second floor where you’ll find yourself in a hip restaurant, The Palm. You can choose from a variety of dishes such as meat dishes, paella, pastas and pizzas. You can also drink delicious cocktails, sangria or a nice smoothie there. If you really can’t resist, there’s even a frikandel on the menu.

By the pool you have the pool bar Agua. Again, you can order the most delicious cocktails or a cold beer, but you can buy ice cream and some snacks here. Think crepes, waffles, chips or, again, a frikandel sandwich. The pool bar is also hip dressed and looks attractive.

Animation

There is a weekly entertainment program organized by the small animation team. This consists of games in the pool, crafts, aqua gym, sports competitions and mini-disco in the pool. A few times a week there is a mini-disco in the evening and the highlight is Friday night, when all children can join the tourist train for a ride through the center of Pineda de Mar. Coco, Camping Enmar’s mascot, also rides along nicely and they turn it into a disco train. Almost every morning and afternoon an activity takes place.

Every night there is live music in the restaurant or another performance such as acrobats or a dance troupe. Evening entertainment takes place in the restaurant so don’t expect a big stage. Although it may be a little warm because it is indoors (although all the windows can be opened all the way) it does have a lot of atmosphere.

Sports & Recreation

If you feel like playing a game of soccer or basketball, you can do so on the sports field at the back of Camping Enmar. On the artificial turf field you can have fun. Next to the sports field is a fun playground that will challenge your children to climb, scramble and slide. There are also two swings including a baby swing. You can also find the ping pong table here. It is a bit tucked away at the back of the campground, next to the parking lot so mainly younger children will not be able to go there on their own. But because Camping Enmar is a small-scale campground, it’s a fun place for most kids to walk or scoot to on their own.

In a corner near the pool, a bit hidden, there are also some fitness machines in addition. And if you like petanque, all you have to do is cross the street. In the small park opposite the campground there are two bocce courts and there you will also find two ping pong tables.

In front of the campground, the tourist train that takes you on a tour of the village stops. This is the same little train that the mini club takes a ride on Friday nights.

Since you are near the sea, you can of course practice all kinds of water sports. Bring your own SUP board or canoe for a fun trip out to sea, or rent one in the village of Pinede de Mar. In addition, you can also take a ride on a banana boat and you can rent a boat yourself.

Stores

At Camping Enmar there is a supermarket for much-needed groceries. Think bread, sweet snacks, drinks, fruits & vegetables and more. You can also find other items for a camping vacation such as fun air mattresses for the sea and camping supplies.

In the village, supermarket Consum is just a 7-minute walk from the campsite. This is a surprisingly spacious supermarket for all your shopping needs, including a large butchery and fish department.

There are also several large supermarkets in the area where you can go by car such as the Mercadona, Lidl and Aldi.
