Campsites in Paris – the best campsites & best tips

Visiting Paris is always a good idea! Because this beautiful city has so much to offer, it’s hard to see everything in one visit. Whether you go there for a city break, or as a stopover on the way to your final vacation destination, it’s always worth it. And there is a wide range of campsites in Paris where you can stay overnight.

From Utrecht, it is just under 500 km to Paris. If you have booked a vacation heading south, for example the Dordogne or the Costa Brava, then a stopover at a campsite in Paris is a nice break from your trip. And you have an immediate fun start to your vacation. Paris is also super fun with kids. There are so many cool places and activities that the kids will love it here. We immediately give you some tips for visiting Paris with children.

Paris with children

Eiffel Tower

Visiting the Eiffel Tower is, of course, a top activity. The way to the top of the Eiffel Tower is an experience in itself, using the traditional elevator. And the insane view is really fantastic. But it’s not just the view that’s worth it, because there’s a really fun children’s trail inside the Eiffel Tower. This is a kind of scavenger hunt where children learn a lot about the Eiffel Tower and its history in a playful way. This is also a very fun and interesting route for parents. Outside the Eiffel Tower there are some traditional merry-go-rounds which the children will also love.

Walking along the Seine

A walk along the Seine is also a fine activity. The banks of the Seine have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for several years. And since 2013, the quaysides of the Seine have had a fun extra for young and old alike. Walk on the Left Bank from the Musée d’Orsay toward the Eiffel Tower and you’ll have an incredibly fun walking tour for a few kilometers with your kids. Here they can take a break and play nice. In fact, there are all kinds of fun activities to do, such as a cool climbing wall (a favorite with our kids), games on the ground like goose board, relax on the floating gardens or go in the sound shower: under one of the bridges you can connect via your bluetooth and then play your favorite song.

Jardin des Tuileries and Louvre Museum

The park Jardin des Tuileries is also highly recommended. Order a crepe or ice cream at the front of the park and take a seat on one of the green chairs by the pond. Just a moment to relax. Walking through the park, you eventually arrive at Paris’ most famous museum, the Louvre Museum. You have a great view of the historic building and the museum’s modern glass pyramid from here. This museum is of course known for the painting the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, but the Venus of Milo can also be found here, and is well worth a visit.

Other attractions in Paris

In addition, of course, there are other great and recognizable landmarks, such as Notre Dame, Sacré Coeur, Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe. The artists’ district of Montmartre is also a must with all its artists and portrait painters. Furthermore, under some of the bridges over the Seine you will find so-called sports gardens. Residents of Paris come here to play sports, but our children really enjoyed playing here for a while. There are various sports equipment and sometimes there was even a climbing wall where they could play.

Disneyland Paris

If you have time, combine a visit to Paris with a visit to Disneyland Paris. Or make it a separate vacation. There are two different parks: the most famous is the Disneyland Park and right next to it you have the Walt Disney Studio Park. At Disneyland Park, you can take pictures with your favorite Disney characters and enjoy the cool rides and great shows. In fact, one day is not enough to see and experience everything. Anyway, you definitely need a day per park. The Disneyland App gives you all the information you need in one app: the Map and current attraction wait times. But in addition, the app shows you where the stores, restaurants, Disney characters and shows are. You can also use the app to make reservations at restaurants and order fastpasses for attractions.
